Dear DDO,
As we entered the quest, I informed the group that I was new and "down right giddy" was what I said; to be doing this quest. Shortly into the quest, when the action started going, someone IM'd me that I wasn't strong enough to last in this quest and that I should buy a Heart of Wood to be able to last in The Shroud. Guess what I did? I bought the Lesser version so I only spent 716 of my hard earned DDO points. After I bought it I asked what to do with it and was referred to "the place where the sun doesn't shine". and someone referred to the IM'er as "a good salesman" and I started getting a bad feeling. I don't know who IM'd me, but Deuterium likes to "lol" when people die and he feels the need to express the "nub" status of any player that dies. When I realized that I had been duped I got upset. I told Deuterium that he was an ******* and he and this group really sucked for ruining my first time to The Shroud (which is AWESOME btw). They may have been speaking ill of me as I don't speak Chinese, but when the quest was over Deuterium IM'd me that "...the world laughs with you and you cry alone" and like a coward promptly logged off before I could respond. So I emailed him to again remind him that we are ALL new once and people like him ruin the beauty of DDO and he would be upset too if he was manipulated into spending his points. If the points can be returned, I would really appreciate it. I will gladly return the Heart of Wood. If not; maybe a suspension of account activity for the other members of the raid I was in. This is an awesome thing for someone like me who remembers the days of pen and paper and teamwork, which seems to be a type of world you are creating, and not to be too dramatic, but a little magic was taken away and I will definitely be guarded when joining another group I don't know. I may have broken rule 3 of the Code of Conduct, but they broke rule 1. My toon's name is Kelai Bloodstorm and this was my first Shroud experience.
