Redemption - searching

I'm currently playing the Redemption quest where you have to find Lars Heyton- I've passed two spot where something is hidden (you know, the 'your acute sense feel a draft' message) However no amount of searching reveals anything. I must have tried a dozen times in both places and nothing. I've reached the end of the dungeon that is freely available but with a locked cell and two forcefields that need removing, I fear my only way to progress is by finding these impossible to find hidden locations - anyone have any advice?

I'm a lvl 2 Paladin if that helps.

The hidden doors are optional. You can complete wuthout finding them. They just shut off the traps I think.

The basic issue is that the warning is based on your Spot skill (which is Wisdom modified) and the actual finding is based on your Search skill (which is Intelligence modified). So you probably have a positive spot score and got the warning to look, but aren't good enough to find it with Search.

Don't expect to find any traps or secret doors unless you invest points in Search skill. You'll stop getting the warnings pretty soon too, unless you spend points to in your Spot skill.

I've finished the Canery so I guess I didn't need to find those doors. Shame though, would have liked to get them, I'm sure one of them has the key to that cell with the chest in it ):

A valve by rest shrine at the end opens the locked door. Destroy the crystals in there and one of the force fields will drop leading to Lars.
