Dragon Renaissance Brotherhood -Old School DnD Players

HOW IMPORTANT IS INTELLIGENCE ?

Ask anyone! You can't have too much intelligence. With most builds 1 or 2 stats are very important to cap out. The remainder I recommend putting into intelligence because this determines how many skill points you will get at every level to improve your skills. This determines if your toon is gimped or not. Also you want to leave stats in even numbers where possible, since the next higher odd number has no added benefit . For more advice seebelow or go to the forums.

More about: Why UMD is so Important

And Charisma, why you ask is that so important??? Well to help raise UMD (Use Magic Device, this is key. With a high UMD you can use magic items at higher levels than you are , it's based on the DIFFICULTY level. If your UMD is higher than the difficulty lvl than you can use the item. This is the same for all race required items on the auction. That means all the items that sell for less because they are race required You can get a bargain (since they sell for less) and use any of them with your character. Make sense??

Sorry, but this just isnt good advice for DDO. Maybe it applies to PnP insome form... but certainly NOT DDO. there isnt a single skill in the game that will "Gimp" your toon. I guess maybe a Trapsmith rogue who doesnt take Disable device would be gimped... But thats about it.

ALso, you can play with Odd starting stats just as easily as Even. it al depends on your goals and expectations... MANY bonus in this game are Odd Numbers...

Level up Points.. 5. ODD

Exceptional bonus's +3 ODD

Enhancemnt bonus.. +3 ODD

LotD Trinket.. +1... ODD

Making best use of your base stats PLUS what you expect to put into those stats is the key to building an efficient character.

UMD does not allow you to use items with Higher level requirements at all. Thats completely false.

Race Restricted items Often sell for Much more because you can actually wear and use them at an earlier level.

EDIT: I just realized those 2 statemnts sound like they contradict each other....

First line refers to Scrolls/Wands. THey have a fixed Minimum level and Difficulty Check.

Again I would have to agree. Those are only important stats for a few classes but would end up harming others
