View Full Version : 500 TP with VIP sub? When do you get them?

Big selling point is the 500 TP with a VIP account each month but I have still never seen these show up. I am a little hesitant to buy more TP when this offer has not yet been honored. What gives?

I have been billed, yet I am still lacking complete fulfillment of sale.

I seriously hope I read wrong about getting them on the day after the subscription is renewed.
They would owe you 2 months at time of renewal. So, not sure how that works.

Do they give you the points whether you renew or not at the renewal date?

On the renewal date each month. So if your original sign-up date was 5/15 - on the 15th of each month you'll be credited (even if you are on 3, 6 or 12 month plan).

I know I received mine the other day and I am not on a monthly plan nor am I up for renewal.

So let's say you signed up on Sept 15, do you get your first 500 points ON Sept 15 (because hey, you've all ready been billed), or on October 15? That would be a crappy deal if it is the latter.

500 points per month to me does NOT mean you get them at the end of the month. That really should read then "Sign up for VIP, Get 500 points per month (EXCEPT the first month)." No where did I read that.

In short, Turbine give me my points please.

Yes, this is another annoying point of interest in how Turbine advertises the VIP benefits. Where else have you ever heard of a gaming-related monthly benefit that comes at the END of your billing cycle?

They really need to get their act together. Finding a bunch of provisions, disclaimers and strange restrictions that were not adequately explained after you signed up thinking you knew what you were getting does not a happy member make.

The CSR said, "Points are granted to an account the morning after it is updated or reinstated"! Which means everyone should get 500 points the morning after they signed up for VIP. The fact is no one is getting their points and we're ****ed about it!

Where are our points Turbine?! C'mon CSR, say something!

You get them on your renewal date so if you signed up Sept. 15 you will get your points either Oct. 15th or 16th. Unless you dont let you account renew for that month

You're wrong, learn to lead the entire post. I even linked to where the CSR said you get them the morning after you subscribe.

someone is clueless here....

ive been waiting for my TP's since the 4th of Sept...put in ticket on the 8th, called the 11th and the 18th...first call they said the middle of the week it should be handled...second call they said three weeks...still no TP's...almost three weeks into subscription....as far as i am concerned its a breach of contract...they have not made a single attempt to contact me...nor have they addressed this directly (like they did the roll over tp's from the beta players and preveious subscribers getting loyalty rewards)...

this is wrong...respect goes a long way...but when turbine ignores us its not a good thing...they disrespect us by not replying to our inquiries...shoot...if they get thousands of new VIP subscribers they really really should send us all an email explaining the problem...simple commercial email program can handle that in very little time...that would at least show a bit of professional protocol instead of ignoring us...who do they think they are....ATARI?

Having the same problem after upgrading my account to VIP.

Turbine, I think it's time for an official response in the forums. What is the exact policy for these 500 points, and what is the status of the fix?

If this was a bug that now requires us to manually request support, can you provide instructions on how to best work this out?

I personally opened a ticket, but since this is a general problem I think it would be best to resolve for all players in advance.

Just found this from an official account management CSR at Turbine. Looks like this is known, and points will be awarded soon to all players...

Points are granted to an account the morning after it is updated or reinstated, or in the morning after the reoccurring subscription fee is paid. At this time there may be some additional delay in receiving these points, but we are working to resolve this.

Emails are answered as quickly as possible in the order they are received. We are experiencing high volume right now, as Eberron has proved to be very popular. We are working to expedite the responses to all inquiries.

Contact options for Accounts, Tech and the Forums are available from the Support Page. More direct links for all of these are available in my signature.

I attempted to contact Account Support and an in-game GM; I had to try, he just referred me to Account Support. Account support never gave me a human to speak to on the phone after a considerable wait, and never responded to the email request.

So, I downgraded my VIP account back to free play status and stated that I wanted my undelivered 500 TP, but I guess they don't read the cancellation reasons. I checked and as of yesterday they were not there.

Today I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and looking for the proper place to report Turbine. I have no idea where that is, if anywhere.

The game could be good if they actually delivered on what they promised, but this experience has soured me on freemium/paymeum games, at least for now.

I signed up for VIP after they invited me to join the head start, had not played for well over a year. As of today, been waiting 25 days for the 500 TP's, plus, what ever points I am due from previous play time (under 1 year).

On top of the obvious, in game favor stopped generating TP's once I hit 200 points in game. Zip, nada, nothing else.

I missed the discounted price to unlock the new char's during head start, frustrating my purpose to start with. My 2 tickets and 2 phone calls have done absolutely nothing so far, except to get me a canned email reply last week saying that they are going to get the problem fixed.

Thank you for your inquiry. We are aware that some players are not receiving their Favor reward and VIP point grants. We have identified the cause of the issue and are working on a solution. All outstanding points will be awarded once we’ve resolved the issue.

Please note that if you still have not received some VIP or Favor reward points that you can expedite the process. Log into the game on a character that is missing points, and open the store. You do not have to purchase anything, you just need to open the store while logged into the game. You may want to do this on each character that should have Favor points, but should only need to do this on one character for VIP points.

Although you may start receiving points this week, we will notify everyone through the forums when this issue is fully resolved. We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

Please do note that VIP points are not granted immediately when you upgrade or click the link to "Get Unlimited Access". VIP points are granted the next morning after the billing system processes a successful subscription payment. If the payment is not processed for any reason, the points will not be granted.

This doesnt "make it all better". Logging in every toon I have, not one more TP over 200. My billing date is 5 days off. Turbine is in breach of our agreement. Im not going to be much more patient, they are already processing the next billing cycle, probably hit my bank account by the end of the week in a pending status.

They cant do this to people. If you take money, you have to deliver the product as advertised. The only thing I am not seeing is a HUGE sticky on every forum keeping us UP TO DATE on the issue. If they have identified the problem, why isnt it fixed!! Surely its not the lack of funds, such 'huge" response to the game they said, so they are flooded with emails...?? Isnt professional conduct a major point in customer service? Its severly lacking for this company thats taking in millions of dollars for this game. Face it, we have a reason to be mad, and Turbine is the cause of it.

havent been waiting as long as some of you, but my billing date is the 21st or 22nd.. i've sent two tickets in on the issue. would be nice if i was getting ALL that i payed for. darn feat exchanges. could use my points. and while on the subject any else think they might not have gotten all the points for launch...vip, year playing, beta player etc?

You're SUPPOSSED to get them every month on or around the date that your Sub renews, even on multi-month plans... So if your sub renews every 6 months on say the the 15th of the month, you should get 500 every month around the 15th.

If you're bugged you'll get them *Soon

Maybe if you all call them between 4:01 and 4:02 PM Tuesday-Tuesday during full moons. They will credit your points sooner than *Soon :D

OK, that was uncalled for..... I think some have managed to get their points by calling them though....

It took them about a week after I opened a ticket with account management. They know the problem, and are fixing it. But if you didn't get your points automatically, open a ticket and they will take care of it.

Hope this doesn't happen next month as well...

Do you have the number handy? I'm in the same boat, it's been 6 days since I got my VIP membership and 5 since I entered a ticket and I haven't heard a word...thanks in advance!

This should prove to be interesting since my subscription renews tomorrow Oct 10 for 6 months. Either I'll see my points if the error is fixed, or I'll be re-posting and calling daily. I agree that it is a breech of contract, if Turbine says they give VIP accounts something for their money THEY NEED TO DELIVER, but after the 1+ year wait of Mod 9 will be out sometime SOON (tm) as their standard operating procedure response, I fear that the TP system is at totally fuched as the Mod 9 issue, in which case like others may need to resort to filing a complaint against them and having the credit card company void the transaction.

Leave it to Turbine to have an "issue" and not inform the very people that it effects because it's really not a problem if they don't say anything.:mad:

Here is some good news perhaps. I just checked my account and there were the 500 TP that hit on my Month Anniversary Date. So at least in my case it seems to be functioning now, so that brings a smile and a bit of good news to the forums. I hope it is fixed for everybody.

Guess what, every day when I log in, I open the store to see if my points are there.... nothing. In my opinion, that's not a good piece of advice.

I am having the same problems. But to be honest. I personally don't care too much about the points. Why do I need them if by paying per month I'm getting all the stuff that I would be using the points for? The points aren't the selling point for me and not getting them will not cause me to cancel my payments. All that said tho I agree if you say that its going to happen then make it happen.

Me and my other half have been VIP's for 3 weeks, with 3 support tickets and no response.

I guess they think that if they make you have to jump though hoops to get your VIP points people will give up and buy more.

If they made more cash from people buying turbine points because thier VIP ones arn't coming though, like they obiously did in this beta stage... and it's more than the cash the lose from cancelled subscriptions, then Turbine has come up with a brilliant buisiness model that profits from your misfortune.. and if you want to complain, they make sure the account department is so understaffed that you'll have to wait 1-2 weeks to get a reply from an email.

I used to be a VIP, not anymore. This game doesn't worth it. No points here too btw.
In terms of content this game is great. In terms of technical stuff (like connections, support, pay to play) it's really horrible, and they don't even seem to care. Personally I did not just suffer from the lack of points, but also from bad packet losses and lags, and Turbine or the DDO Staff or whoever is in charge here didn't give a ****

You get them 24 hours after your CC has been billed. Just an FYI, took me 6 weeks to see my points from September 15th, just got them yesterday (Oct 28) and still waiting for my Oct 15th points :(

Yea but you aren't getting all the things you would use the points for, unless you've already maxxed out your favor. 32 point builds, drow, and favored souls are all blocked till you get the favor or buy them.

That said, might as well put me on the list of not getting my points.

Well i am same here i VIP months back and NEVER got mine i contacted them they said there know of this and Will put the points on though accts and I never Got them even too this day ... that why i stop playing and Never again Subbed them it's Bull that we pay them for this stuff and never get it

EDIT: Come too find out the added points too my BETA acct and NOT my VIP acct They need too Fix this ASAP and i been waiting Since July /21 /09
