Now I don't know about everyone else, but when I play AD&D 3.0 or higher. I love to add in the dragon disciple as one of my charactre classes. If it was done the way the handbook says to do it I think it would be a great addition to the game.

I agree. Dragon disciple and bear warrior are two of my favorites my guess is it in part for the same reason we do not have druids yet that we do not have at least dragon disciple. Too much programming effort right now.

honestly me myself I would add it in BUT I would either make it something you find in-game(do a specific quest - find a dragon disciple trainer, or save one.) that or just make it buyable like they did with other simple class (monk which is a BASIC class in D&D)

my most favorite multiclass is

drow - monk/wiz/dragon disciple

Three problems:
1. Half-dragons are rather taboo in Eberron. They exist, but are aggressively discouraged by whole dragons.

2. Shape-changing player models would be a serious investment.

3. Dragon Disciple is a weak character option. It requires arcane casting to qualify, but provides primarily melee benefits.

Dragon disciple was promised back before mod 1 even came out as soon. Over 3 years later nothing. Pretty safe to say its not comming

...

Dragon Disciple requires Spontaneous Casting ... wizards are Prepared Casting.

Sorcerors and Bards are the only Core Classes that qualify for Dragon Disciple.

The Pathfinder Version beefed up Dragon Disciple a little.. by adding Caster levels into it as opposed to just adding spells per day

You are correct a wizard does not qualify for the dragon discpile. I am so use to playing a mage I just forgot I used a sorceror instead of a wizard.

Tome & Blood

Pg. 55

Languages: Draconic
Spells: Ability to cast arcane spells without preparation.
Special: The player chooses a dragon type when taking the first level of this prestige class, subject to the DM's approval.

1. I don't know if they are in Eberron or not.

2. ummmmm dragon disciple is not a shape changing class!

3. yes it gives a sorc. more melee benifit allowing a sorc to fight along with using magic. hence the reason i like to combine the monk class with the sorc and dragon disciple.

Keith Baker says (words to the effect of) "if it's in D&D, you can find it on Eberron," BUT dragon disciple is almost the last thing you could fit in.. in that the Dragons of Argo would be trying to eradicate you...

I just don't rate it that high.

1) While breeding half dragons is taboo on Eberron, I don't see why this would extend to acquiring dragon traits through magic - surely that would be flattering to dragons, not an aberration.

2) It's a one-off transformation, requiring new character models but not animations between the new and the old.

3) Melee Arcanes are already viable in this game, particularly on the Warforged platform - Disciple could give them some serious boosts.

However, I'm still not sure how either race would actually gain benifit from their innate abilities in the current DDO Dev mindset.

Shifter would be pretty cool, though - and would take only slight modification of the human models. A bit more bestial features, a slight fur texture to the skin, and some more wild looking hair styles. More artstyle changes than model alterations (beyond the hair, that is). No need to program any changes to the model for the "shift" when activating their powers... just apply it as a buff.

I think Shifters would be one of the easier races to wedge into the game, and would add a more Eberron tone to the game.

Heck if it is just the 3d char animation they are lacking I am sure I could build that for them :D Considering I do 3d animation lol
