Yeah, everyone knows it blows, we knew it the moment they announced it already, that's not what I wanna talk about.
Regardless of useful or even existing capstone, I decided to go pure on my rogue before this game had a cap higher than 10 already, and I stayed true to that. So while there, I tought I may as well take the capstone, why not.
Sometimes it is nice actually, like in the new raid it did save the whole group already once which was the intended use of it. However it has a TON of glitches and uninteded sideffects that are friggin' annoying.
Firstly, if I'm trying to use the all so common deathport, it usually procs and rezzes me in the tavern I just /death-ed from. Ironically, so far it always procced in these situations, but very rarely when I actually needed it even if I didn't die before. Some clarification about the exact % chance would be helpful here. Before anyone says I shouldn't use deathport, I will agree the moment we get a useful teleport spell and spell selection.
When I first saw it work in tavern, it instantly procced and returned me to life at 50%, no death screen, no accept raise button, zip. That was pretty cool, if it would actually work like that (and no death penalty), that would be a **** good life saver capstone.
But in raids, ofcourse I do take the death, death penalty, thus it pretty much just saves like 40 mana for a cleric, right.
Now for the real test, Abbot. It was a nightmare, and a totally useless capstone, in fact it works more like a handicap. When inferno hit and killed me, the only place where the delayed rez would be better, it instantly procced like in tavern and I just died twice or thrice. Only died 2 times in reality but on the death counts had like 2-3 times more than anyone else. What's just as bad - tough likely unrelated bug - the friggin' death penalty also got stuck on me because of the instant raise.
And then came the good part of it, we failed tile puzzle at first, completed other 2. Went back into tile again, we were halfway through, when for some unrelated bug that f***ing inferno hit me while inside the tile puzzle!!! What kind of BS is that?!! Yeah, cheat death saved the raid there, with a ton of dp stuck on me it procced, completed tile and kicked the abbot's butt.
/rant off
Summary suggestion:
- link it to the /death command so while using /death it will get turned off
- make it consistent, either always an insta-rez like in taverns, or never
- regardless of the mechanic used (instant raise, or popup window), make it so that it dosen't result in adittional death penalty
