It would be less confusing for the new players if it were named Arcane Spell Failure on the item descriptions (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Items/Armor/VulkoorimFightingLeathers.jpg) than if it is Spell Failure. By being called Spell Failure, it incorrectly suggests that clerics, favored souls, paladins and rangers are affected by it. This confusion could easily be avoided if it was changed to Arcane Spell Failure which is, coincidentally, the named used in 3.5 D&D for that game mechanic.

not signed. This can be easily solved by reading the character descriptions. If new players are interested in how classes work, all they need to do is read and learn.

Instead, time is needed to fix the Thelanis server curreently. :) :D

Edit: On a more serious note Borror. If new players take a quick moment and learn about the class they want to play, then this is really a non-issue. Fixing/changing every little thing because the player base needs a spoon fed helpful handholding to learn about the game is not neccessary. We all had to learn the past 3+ years. There is nothing wrong with the new players taking an interests in thier characters and learning the ins and outs.

I dont see what this change could hurt, save us a bit of time explaining to the cleric that its ok to not be a clothie...

I agree with Borror0. Changing it to match 3.5 PnP naming conventions is a good idea. It doesn't hurt anything and would be a quick fix.
