Have an account but have yet to be able to join a server. Is it all hit and miss for joining one. or a problem with account.. Can login to sever page then no farther.?

I have the same problem. I get to the server page and they are reporting as all closed.

I had a pre-order account and coming back now it is free. (Sucks to be a pensioner.)

Accounts which were only ever Pre-order (and never upgraded to retail release) are not able to log into the game worlds. The same may be true for any beta accounts which were never logged in during beta or were created after the end of beta.

To get into the game simply re-register at www.ddo.com/playnow. Since pre-order only and beta accounts don't have any characters associated with them you're not losing anything by re-registering.

Thanks for playing!

I'm just an ordinary free player, and I can't login yet after 2 hours. Is this related?

Unlikely. Check your firewall to make sure the game client has permission to connect to the service. That's the most common cause of connection issues.

not losing anything except the account names we have with turbine and the fact that DDO is still requiring a product code.

is it really hard to fix?

Not sure where you're seeing that. The registration flow for DDO Unlimited doesn't use product keys. It creates an account that you can log into using the name and password you've selected during signup. If you're asking about adding a subscription to an existing Turbine account: we don't support that flow by design for launch. It's not something subject to a "fix". The currently supported process if you want to add multiple subscriptions of DDO to a single Turbine account is to request assistance from Account Support via the Support section of www.ddo.com.

I have an old beta account that can't access the servers, you say the fix is to re register and get an new account which would then mean I would have 2 turbine accounts which I do not want to do, I would like to stick with my one account. The fix I was talking about was fixing the sever issue with the beta accounts.

does that spell it out for you now? and yes if I try to make a new turbine account it still asks for a product code.

Old beta accounts from the original launch of DDO are no longer supported if they were not upgraded to retail back at the original launch. The same is true for Beta Accounts from this summer that were never logged into the Beta. If that's your issue, Account Support will be happy to help you if you want to add a new subscription to that account, but it's not something we intend to support for launch via the web since it is an edge case that requires manual assistance.

if I try to make a new turbine account

You don't need to. Making a new DDO Unlimited account by using the main registration page (https://trial.turbine.com/ddo.php?utm_source=ddo_forums) creates both a new Turbine Account plus a new DDO Unlimited Subscription on that account.

I am barred off from logon server again. Played it for over 10 hours, then when I recalled, the connection's lost. Retrying on different server, could only pass the server selection screen, always stuck on "checking for credential" part. Is this the built-in watch-my-health go-to-bed alarm?
