which quests have these as end rewards?

All level sigils are 100% completely random drops. If you need one badly I would suggest finding a quest you can solo quickly and run it over and over until one drops for you.

i am also in big trouble about finding this one. since f2p exits (including beta) i have leveled 8 chars and never had any trouble finding the cooper sigil (to get from 4 to 8)

i have tried to look as much as possible in the forum and it seems that some quests tend to give sigil more often than other; but most of these data concerns the copper one which is (obviously) found more often.

Robi, I really appreciate your work and your effort, specially in making your f2p guide but could you provide us with more information about it. I am sure those sigils will soon become the top f2p concern, when the recently created accounts reach lvl 8+. I would hardly think all quests really have a equal random chance of dropping it, for example you would not find the copper sigil in korthos (I never seen anyone saying hat he found it there) then it is not abusive to think that the same kind of rule apply to silver one.

I have read somewhere that (concerning the silver one) only quests of lvl 6-10 would give it. I have been unable to confirm it. I have tryed to repeat short lvl 6 quests in normal mode (I found 3 fast quests and did each 10 times) and got none. And this came after i reached XP cap of lvl10-1xp while doing normal questing everywhere i could go.

If someone actually droped it already, can you please write in this post in which quest (and ideally difficulty but i am not sure this really changes anything), we may be able to build enough data to infer the best way of getting it.

People may just be running those quests more often, doesn't necessarily mean that the ratio is more often for those quests.

In beta I got the Copper Sigil doing Storehouse Secret, so yes you can get it on Korthos. There were others that also reported they got the Copper Sigil from doing quests on Korthos.

From what I understand the drop rate for Silver is less than Copper, Gold less than Silver and of course Platinum less than Gold.

Sigil's can drop from any quest at any difficulty level.

If the sigils are random, farm quests which provide a chance at good loot.

Examples:
Durk’s Got a Secret: Muckbane
The Pit: Muckdoom

not sure what your looking for, but there is a loot list for each quest i.e. what drops where not sure if free to play can go there if not but I am sure a sub player can link it or if you can then go the player written user guids.http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=121279 posted for u

yea thanks, i read this post, but it doesnt speak about sigil of leveling.

still saying "Sigil's can drop from any quest at any difficulty level. " really has no meaning and is very unlikely (or maybe i should farm khortos village quests to find my silver sigil ...) . Dont speak as if you made the game or tell us where this information comes from; in this form it doesnt give any clue.

I am not really sure there is much I can do really. However I will think about it. If I can come up with something, I will let you know.

My copper was easy and came before I needed it, I gave up and bought my silver sigil. I'm not one of those "IT SAYS FREEE!!!!11111oneoneone", I bought 3k points and several content packs no problem. I'm -still- annoyed I had to buy a sigil.

All level sigils are 100% completely random drops.
How do you know this?

For example, do you specifically know that a Platinum sigil can come from a quest below level 5?

Honestly, I am just going by what the Devs have been telling people. I guess if you really think about it they can't be completely random or people would be getting gold sigils before silver and so on and so forth.

And what keeps VIPs from getting them as end rewards.

I guess there is at the very least something within the game that tracks sigil drops and players.

Honestly, I am just going by what the Devs have been telling people.
The devs never said "sigils are 100% random drops".

There is a BIG difference between:
1. Sigils are found in random drops.
2. Sigils are 100% random drops.

Thank you for clarifying the semantics of my statement, you have done a great service for the community.

Moving on.

Exactly how random are they I don't know? Are they random enough that probability of a drop can't be predicted?

Maybe we can if out. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=2405232#post2405232)

well lets not fight about it :) i just wanted this post to be a place for people to share about their experience in getting the sigils that may help us understand better how they work. I just hoped that you knew a little more about it Robi, i never intended to put some pressure on you about answering.

after 2 days at XP cap, i finally got my silver sigil tonight. I got it as quest reward in "path to madness", quest lvl 8, in normal difficulty.

With the number of "lower" quests i have done while farming, i would still think that only a reduced number of quests can actually provide a sigil, but of course we need more datas to make such a concluson, so i still hope some people will post where they got it.

If you want the most chests per quests, Id try this (not sure of the names of the sigils..just guessed):

copper (1-4)= The last part of the Baudry Cartaman series.... just dont complete it. You can get 7 chests in there.

silver (5-8)= Stormcleave. Potential for 8 chests.

gold (9-12)= atraxias haven littered with names chests and 2 longish quests with chests

platinum (13-16)= lack of content free

diamond (17-20)= lack of content free

Fair enough I'll say it much much clearer, even in point form.

1. Do any quest
2. Either on Solo, Normal, Hard or Elite.
3. Percentage chance of getting Sigil as End Quest Reward.

Example: Storehouse Secret is a Level 1 Quest, did it on Hard, I was Level 3. Got Sigil as End Quest Reward.

Running around trying to compile a list of quests that it drops more often on is rather pointless because all you will get told is the successes, not all the failures.

So if you get reports of 36 people getting Sigil's running Storehouse Secret and 10 people running Cannith Crystal to get the Sigil, everybody will be saying to farm Storehouse Secret. Yet Storehouse Secret could have been run about 200 times and Cannith Crystal 28 times. :-) That statement also doesn't take into account the various difficulty levels the quests were run at.

And that isn't taking into account people who get it ss an End Quest Reward but don't see it because it is at the bottom of the list and you might have to scroll to see it. Once a toon has their Sigil applied to their toon it will never appear for them again as an End Quest Reward.

Someone actually got the Copper Sigil from doing the Tutorial Quest. It is mentioned in this post: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=2313537&highlight=tutorial+sigil#post2313537

I ran Water Works completion and obtained a sigil. It is known that once a sigil is aquired you will not find another in your end reward list, unless it is of another type. Mine was 4-8 COPPER. I have yet to find a silver. I am also trying to obtain a gold on another character. I tried farming Durk's with no luck. Lots of mana pots though.. and sadly.. No muck.

I would also like to mention I was level 3, it seems a lot of posts have someone who was level 3,6,9 possibily better drop rate at more odd levels than even...

1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 11?....

Are levelling sigils per character or if you get one does it open up all characters for those levels? I have 250 TP on my character at the moment, but I'm saving that for an adventure pack or two.

Definitely not worth buying if you are FtP then.

Someone here commented upon getting the silver sigil from Waterworks. That indicates yes, they are completely random and can be gotten from any quest with selectable randomized quest rewards.

I recommend running short quests of a level close to your imposed cap the provide full lists of end rewards.

For the first sigil, Information is Key takes 2 minutes to solo at level 4 (3-3½ when you add getting the end reward).

For the second sigil, Caged Trolls is pretty short and farmable.

this is a load of ****.

sigil cant be droped in khorthos this has been officially confirmed, it was the case at the begining of beta (at an extreme high rate), because they did not want player not being able to test the game.

it was in your own post Robi, the guy said that but did not mention the difficulty. If it was in elite, this wouldmake the last quest lvl 6, so it should be possible to get a silver one.

Yeah, I'd love to know how korthos quests could drop one since those are all static rewards. Either it'd always be there, or never.

My apologies then, I was totally unaware that they had changed it from Beta.

Are you able to point me to this official confirmation so that I can add the information to the DDO Wiki?

PS I edited out your impolite swearing, I'll just put it down to you having a bad day.

Well so far ive made 3 toons on f2p. Got them to the harbor and each time I did kobold new ringleader twice i have gotten the copper sigil. Thats for each of those toons.

Ive also seen Waterworks giving out coppers. So far ive been testing copper sigils but I will working on silver sigils next.

To clarify:

Sigil drops are indeed 100% random if the end reward, and I emphasize this, is not static.

Attitudes really do need to be dropped. People are trying their VERY best to help you and find answers for you.

Thank you for your time.

Sigils are deifinitely random, but quests that give you better rewards can improve your chance of getting a sigil. For example i've got my Copper Sigil at the end of WW (with a 4th lvl toon). Just half an hour ago I've got my Silver sigil as a reward from Depths of Doom normal (so a lvl 4 quest). And I was 5th lvl when I got it. So, instead of doing a lot of easy quest in a row, you should focus on quests that can give you a nice reward (probably the sigils are compared to an equivalent item worth, so when you have a quest that can give you items of that kind, you can also find a sigil quite easily).
I found copper sigils in quests that give at least +1 items or more. Other quest rewards that i could have chosen were +2 items, or maybe something more).

You can't find a level sigil in Korthos, because all of the Korthos quests have specific drops.

I joined a party of Six. I Went in by the time they had almost finished the quest - Information is Key (harbour) -Elite.
It was like I entered inside and they finished the quest. When I came out I got the sigil from the quy who gives the quest.
Lucky me. first quest on harbour with a sigil.
Now where can I get a gold sigil

If you want the most chests per quests, Id try this (not sure of the names of the sigils..just guessed):

copper (1-4)= The last part of the Baudry Cartaman series.... just dont complete it. You can get 7 chests in there.

silver (5-8)= Stormcleave. Potential for 8 chests.

gold (9-12)= atraxias haven littered with names chests and 2 longish quests with chests

platinum (13-16)= lack of content free

diamond (17-20)= lack of content free

Copper gives levels 5 to 8 you can loot them from any quest level 1 on up.

Silver gives levels 9 to 12 you can loot them from any 5 on up quest, best ones are the short quick ones in J, P, and the last two Depths Quests in D. Depths quests are the fastest to solo for me at least. But the Js like Mirras and the one near fred name escapes me is pretty darn fast as well.

Gold gives levels 13-16 can drop in any 9 on up quest. At this point you are either a good soloer or you need a group and nothing is all that fast for farming unless you are running with a solid kill crew, in the free areas that is. There is a quest in Deleras that was farm central for the quick chests, can't remember the name if you bought Deleras that would probably be your best bet for a fast sigil and quick loot. Ataraxias and other K quests like Made to Order and BAM will get you a drop for this sigil. Also the free raid Tempest Spine will drop sigils.

Platinum gives levels 17 to 20 and drops in any 13 plus quest. At this point you are SOL unless you have bought Gianthold, Vale of Twilight, Reavers Refuge, or the Devils of Shav.

If your a free player your best bet is to level up as far as you can go. Then buy a months subscription and go on a leveling frenzy if you are on a budget. If you are dead broke level other toons for free points buy a mod and grind like crazy til you get your needed drop or buy a sigil. Either way sounds a bit of a grind fest, but hey you have time, hopefully lol. Then again you could just hang around and enjoy the lower level stuff. That's what we did when the game first came out and max was level 10.

Another note these are only given in end rewards. Chest drops are unconfirmed. I know of no one pulling one out of a chest during beta or afterward. I would like to see a screenshot if anyone has one of a sigil being pulled.
