First off I am new to this game so hello! I jumped in on beta and I am now rolling characters on Cannith. This is a build that I put together after viewing the many new character builds that I have found looking through everything on the forums. In no way am I trying to take credit for this build. I am just looking for input. Like I said I am new so go easy on me. I'm obviously looking to build a tank.

Quickly having a look - Do you want to be a more defensive minded 'tank' or more a 'dps' buiild. Just a note, 'dps' tends to be where it is at in this game.

If tank: Pick up the Stalwart Defeder Enhancements
If dps: Kensai enhancments.

If tank: Your charisma is a little low - affects intimidate. However, your stat spread is pretty good considering a 28 pt build. You could always drop Wisdom by 2.

For dps build: Pick up some dps feats - like Two Handed Fighting, Improved Two Handed Fighting, Greater Two Handed Fighting. Or take the Two Weapon Fighting chain, but that might be hard with 28pts.

Pretty solid build to start with :)

Id prolly drop your intel by 2 and pull all points out of wisdom. Pump some points into CHA and pick up the force of personality feat. It will apply your cha modifier to your will saves instead of wisdom. It will also help your intimidate.

I would max umd as well (didnt notice if you did that or not)

I saw khop profeciency, but no twf feats. The twf line really add a lot, you need a 17 base dex for all the feats needed. TWF, ITWF, GTWF. So if you want to go that route you need at least a 15 dex without too much grinding. You can then grind out 1750 for a favor tome, either +2 int so you can pu combat expertise (wich you dont need so much at lower levels anyways) or dex if you decide to go the route mentioned above, then add CE in later when you get another +2 tome.

Just some things to think about for you stats and feats.

As far as skills go, dont bother with swim. I would max UMD before jump even, but many peeps like to jump without a clickie. There is a new item in the game with gives you 3 clicks of jump for 15 minutes, kinda nice, but you dont get it till lvl 18.

Also put at least a pt into tumble.

First of all you need to decide whether you are Defensive or Offensive. Right now you are specced Defensively. Thats isnt to say you wont do damage, but you wont compete against a offensively specced fighter that uses (TWF or THF) or a Barbarian.

Strictly my Opinion, but Personally I would make him a Dwarven Stalwert Defender.

Why be Human? You are a pure fighter with good intelligence. Fighters dont need tons of skill points, just enough to cover intimadate, jump and if you can manage it Balance. Also Fighters have tons of feats, one extra (human bonus) isnt going to make a big difference. Furthermore as Dwarfs get Exotic Dwarven Axas for as a Free feat, you will actually gain a feat as you wont need the klopesh anymore. Coupled with the fact that Dwarves get Axe enhancements that no other race has. The only negative would be that Dwarves have a -2 cha, but you could compensate for the negative intimate score by taking Skill Focus: Intimidate feat as you've already done. Granted you wont draw aggro quite like a Human but you can always eat a tome later on to compensate +and get some +Inmidate items later. You wont be the absolute best at drawing aggro, but youll have enough intimate to get the job done and enough power to both take and give back the punishment.

As far as your stats you could steal a point from Int and Dex, due to the store +1 tomes are easy to come by. You could use those point into something like Con or even Cha if you are that worried about the -2.

Another reason is the Dwarven spell resistence, one areas fighters are weak is spell/wis resistence. Dwarves have enchancements that Help on this.

As for Stalwart Defender, this just seems like a no brainer. When you are in a defensive stance you STR+CON+AC+Saves all go up, plus your attacks generate more aggro which is usefully for the toon you are building.
Your lack of mobility isnt much of a hinderence as your're Defensively specced anyway. You want the enemy to come to you, you shouldnt have to chase to them.

Before MOD 9 came out I had character based on this, it worked pretty well. As I said the -cha hurts, but I thought the benefits outweighed to positives, and that was before the Stawert Defender PrC was out.

If you check the forums both Riot and Borror0 have built intimdate tanks. Both are good, Riott is Human, Borror0 is Dwarf.

I'd be wary of dropping Wis to lower than 10. Will saves are fighters Achilles Heel and It really sucks to get held while monsters pound you.

Thanks for the input. How many points should I put into UMD and Jump?
