Anyone notice that windows 7 is not using all the memory on the machine. Windows 7 sees 5 gigs on my machine but only uses 3.5 gigs. Im guessing its a 32 install issue, but Im wondering how it will effect game play here and other places. I just installed it, and am wondering if anyone has this issue, and if so how DDO runs.

ddo runs perfectly on windows 7, much better then vista. Even the installation ran perfectly. Windows 7 utilizes as much memory as it needs to accomplish its tasks and then some. It does not require alot of memory to run, but simple minds are still thinking back to xp where if they saw alot of memory usage they got worried.

It is the opposite in windows 7. Just because you see a lot of memory usage it does not mean you need more or are going to run out.

I am assuming you are addressing the usage of ram on your machine. Keep in mind that the 32 bit version of windows 7 will address 4GB's of ram including video memory.. so if you stick 4 gigs in and go get a video card with a 1gb of ram or 512, that only leaves 3.5 gbs of ram for the system itself.. ( only lol ). If you want to allocate all available memory then the 64 bit version would suite you best. However, you will have to deal with the potential problem and incompatibilities out there as well.
