Ok , 2 of my friends are trying to make an (free) account with the Account Creator on the main page and they get the following Error : Your submission contained an error. Please try again. Code: #FTx
Can anyone tell me why? and What to do in order to not get the error anymore? (they keep getting it now , every time they go to the Account Creation page)

People who are having issues are trying to create their accounts here (http://www.ddo.com/playnow/) correct?
Shinobu
09-09-2009, 10:57 AM
Yeah , Im pressing the download now button and it leads me to an Account Creation page , and after I complete it , it gives me that error
Edit : Maybe its a country related problem , since im from East Europe

For anyone having issues creating an account please submit a ticket (http://www.ddo.com/component/content/article/482-account-ticket) to our Account Support team and they will be happy to assist you!

It requires "Last Four Digits of Card on File:" what should I write ?
You can leave that field blank (or put in all 0s) if there is no card information on file.

I had this exact same problem. Tried it in Firefox and in IE, both up-to-date, at least 5 times each. Clearing the cache allowed me to resubmit the form but the error repeated.
Hubby signed up from work (about 1/2 mile away lol) and it worked first time. So he tried signing me up, and it worked first time.
Some kind of network issue? I am in the UK, on Virgin Media, not sure ISP for hubby's work.
I would also observe that if the sign-up doesn't work you can't post the problem on here, so who knows how many people are having this happen.
I hope it gets sorted tho cos I was very frustrated and I feel for those not lucky enough to have someone for whom it works.

SOLUTION
the problem with caption
after filling information ask for a new security check and do that one on the field.
worked for me :)

I'm having the exact same problem trying to sort out an account for my wife. I already have one after participating in the beta and we've been looking forward to playing together. Kenaoshi's solution hasn't worked. I've tried on IE and Firefox on two different computers. I'm in the UK and on Virgin Media, so I wonder if the issue is with them somewhere.

Two of my friends are having the same issue.
I've tried the form myself in FF Opera and IE (all up to date) and got the same error after filling in the form:
Your submission contained an error. Please try again. Code: #FTx0VYLK37S
the page is: http://trial.turbine.com/ddo.php
The caption thingy doesn't work.
ALSO:
The account ticket is obscure to say the least. I doubt half the people will know how to fill it out EVEN if they could actually find it.

Okay same as above, my mate has not been getting anywhere, aside from angry and frustrated.
He's apparently used IE8, Chrome, Firefox 3.5 and all having the same issue when submitting the initial information. They have also tried 3 different email accounts (as the system doesn't actually say what the problem is other than random error messages). Refering to me as tech support shows a certain degree of desperation.
Again this could be an issue with using Virgin ISP, but not sure what that issue would be.
I will try and encourage them to lodge a ticket.

I'll confirm this too, tried to get an account using virgin media internt and it repeatedly failed with the same error as said here.
Went outside my house and stood in the drive where I can get into the unprotected network from 2 doors down and I got signed up with no problem.
Definaly seems to be a problem with Virgin ISP, so I suggest you find another connection to sign up from, the download seems to work fine on virgin though so no problems there.

I can further confirm this. I tried several methods to register my free account on a Virgin Media ISP, and all failed. I then went to my friends house who uses BT internet, and it worked perfectly. So its definatley an issue with Virgin, but once you create the account you are ok to manage it and play on Virgin internet.
Can't explain why, and I wouldnt advise actually contacting Virgin Media on this matter as I am sure they are unable to resolve it in any reasonable amount of time. If you have this problem, just use a friends computer with a different ISP or go to an internet cafe or something.

After 10 or more tries, I managed to get it under an US proxy. I don't know why, but I got the impression that the site was IP blocked for those outside of USA, or NA especially.
ADD: tried proxy-less again and got "Your submission contained an error. Please try again. Code: #FTxACLV3BUY". So this really is an IP block issue. Now (I am not sure if this is against the rules, if yes, please remove the information) the proxy I used to register was 64.125.136.28 on port 80. Set this into your browser, and it should work (will load the page a bit slowly, but surely).
Good luck everyone, and a good game!

It looks like some people's combination of IP address and other values are tripping up our anti-fraud/anti-gold farmer filters. Virgin Media in particular appears to be a problem ISP. We're looking into the issue and appreciate everyone's patience.
If you're being blocked by this issue and need assistance please follow the instructions above to get help from account support.

For players still getting this error, I'll add my data so they'll know to look for the solution.
Me and a friend had the same issue with our ISP: UPC/Astral in Romania. Managed to create my user just fine using my cell phone's internet connection from Orange.

Quick update. I was out and about earlier this morning and managed to sign up via a random wireless internet connection I picked up on my iPod touch. I hope that this issue gets sorted out so other people don't have to jump through the same hoops.

Hi from Turkey,
Me and 5 of my friends got the same problem. Some of us got thier accounts by thier friends over at US and some us tried lots of different IP programs to pass this "IP block" kind of issue. I'm sure there are thousands of computer gamers in Turkey who are ready to sign up but can not and since you need the same account to register in the forums, can not tell about this issue.
So this is not an issue with "some" ISP's over at US. Whole Turkey is getting an IP block and who knows how many others are. FYI.
Thanks.

Same situation from Ukraine. Can't create account to my wife.
"Your submission contained an error. Please try again."
My old free account (created 5-6 month early) worked fine.
By the way, same situation in LOTRO: https://trial.turbine.com/lotro.php

Please be sure you're using Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 (or IE 8 in compatibility mode) to view and make changes to Turbine websites.
You can also try clearing the cache and cookies, especially if you have already created a free account on a computer.
If none of that works, please feel free to call or email the Account Management department for assistance and they will be happy to help. They can generally resolve this type of request quickly via phone or email.

I'm %100 sure that thousands of players inside US and especially outside US are having this problem. They need the very same account to register in this forum and post their problems. If they ever happen to find this thread and read it, they won't (again I'm talking about players outside US) call the account management and only %30 of them would send an e-mail. What I'm saying is that; this is a big issue, better solve it quick : )

After receiving an email from you inviting me to create an account I assumed that the issue had been resolved. Sadly this is not the case and I still receive the same error message when attempting to create an account.
While trying to send the ticket as advised I found that I cannot submit it because I haven't yet created a character and have no idea which world it is on, which the ticket seems to require. Surely a ticket submission for a none-existant character should allow for the fact the character hasn't been created yet?
Incidentally, it isn't entirely clear, from the choices available, which type of issue should be chosen for a new free account submission error.

I'm on Virgin Media in the UK and the way around this is:
1) Switch off WiFi on iPhone.
2) Use iPhone Safari (over 3G) to create an account
3) When you have the option click the installer of your choice and as the iPhone is attempting to download it, select the URL for editing. Copy the URL to your PC webrowser.
4) DL and run the installer as per normal.
I have noticed the background peer-to-peer installer doesn't work with virgin either but the standard installer does. So I'm assuming they block the P2P mechanism DDO uses.
I think Virgin are going to love me this month.. entire Babylon 5 from iTunes and now this..

If you are trying to submit an email form to the Account Management department, you can leave blank any of the fields that do not apply, such as credit card details, server character is on, etc. If the form prompts an error that the information is not filled out, simply submit again and it will be processed despite the error.

Had same problem too also on virgin media was trying to create account via wireless conection to router although game downloaded without problem was unable to create account. so plugged in my o2 wireless broadband dongle and it worked first time i tried to create account.
spoke to friends who are also on virgin media in uk they too were unable to create an accounts gave them my laptop and connected to net via my o2 broadband dongle and again worked first time for both of them when they tried to create accounts.
so solution maybe to ask friend that you trust that is on different isp to let you use there connection to create accounts.

I had the same issue . Creating an account on DDO official site for some of you is not an option . A possible solution could be sending a ticket (an email) with your issue . I've got a response in a few days . You will receive a key and a download page of DDO. Or if you have a DDO TURBINE account , you can login with that ! For ex. a friend of mine has created its account from 1 try . I was kinda shocked at the first time !

Hope it helps , just have patience ! ;)

God bless the iPhone, which worked for me as well. I'm a UK Virgin Online subscriber with exactly the same troubles as stated above. I tried the support email message, but was put off by the massive red warning pop-ups when I tried to send it. I even tried to buy the game for the first month, but couldn't find it to buy on the DDO Store, which seemed the logical place. I couldn't make a Turbine account without buying a product as well.
All in all, you make it very hard to start playing this game, and even harder to like you afterwards.
I'd have given up if I didn't have friends who were already in game.

I hope Turbine fixes this issue quickly. I have a lot of friends who wants to try DDO but if they have to send e-mails and wait 2 weeks for a product key(to register) I don't think they would be very happy.
I've tried to register with Firefox 3.5.3 and IE7 and nothing works. I dunno about how Turbine manages their game but registration issue is a very big issue I would think and should be fixed immediately. This error is turning people away from the game.

Turbine officially supports the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. However we are happy to assist players from other countries. Most players, especially in our supported areas, are able to create new accounts without an issue.
If you're not able to create an account via the website, then please send an email. Be sure to select "New Free Account Key Request" as your type. We have an expedited process for sending keys for that type of request, and it does not take 2 weeks.

If you're still having this problem....
Be sure you're using Mozilla Firefox (2 or preferably 3) or Internet Explorer (6/7 or 8 with compatibility mode).
If that still doesn't work you can send an email via this form:
http://www.ddo.com/component/content/article/482-account-ticket
You can enter "n/a" or "none" and "0000" for the card information and username.
Be sure that you include a valid email address spelled correctly (don't put your last name in the email field).
And be sure that you select "New Free Account Key Request" as the type. We have an expedited system for processing tickets with that type.
