View Full Version : Monestary Puzzle is still bugged

The monastery of the scorpion end puzzle is still bugged. It is not fixed to be solvable 100% of the time.

Note: I put in a ticket and while waiting for a response from the dev's, tried to beat down Sannyasi a bit to break a tile. Finally noticed a response from a dev, but by then he/she had closed the ticket.

I got a response back saying the puzzle was solvable... someone tell me if it is or if the dev was blowing smoke... I ran it through a solver and no go.

If I'm wrong and it was solvable then the dev has my most abject apologies... If I was correct then that dev needs to take some classes in customer service.

Hard to see if that 1 tile is locked or not from the small image. But it appears that its not solvable. GMs dont fix that. Just beat the thing down.

I thought that it was supposed to be fixed in this mod. I believe I read somewhere that the puzzle was supposed to be solvable all the time.

Yeah, one tile was out because it was unsolvable. I had to range him down a few tiles to get it to be solvable.

The second chest is pointless in this quest if the puzzle is not solvable all the time.

The release notes state that "Sayamai or whatever its name" is will not make the puzzle unsolvable, not that the puzzle will be initially unsolvable.

O.k., but in what way did Sannyasi ever make the puzzle unsolvable? In the hundred or so times I've run that quest, I've never had a problem/bug where the named end boss ever made it unsolvable.

So what did they fix?

And why make it just random chance that we're able to get the second end chest with the extra rune in it? I thought the point was to make us use our wits/ingenuity to overcome obstacles and get an additional reward. The way it's set up now is just blind luck at getting a puzzle you can solve initially to get that second chest.

So what's the point of listing a supposed fix?

That may be true, but the developer who created the dungeon also said this (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=2265888&postcount=48).

Thanks a lot Kam for the confirmation. I really appreciate it. I filed a bug report last night after being in there for an hour and a half waiting on a dev to get back to me the second time. I was told it was solvable and the person couldn't help me... now where have I heard that before? hmmm....:rolleyes:
