Change to UMD?

Has anybody else noticed a change to UMD checks when it comes to equipping race required equipment? The only reason I ask is because when I unequip my golden cartouche, it forces two other pieces of my race required equipment to unequip.

Before I would equip my golden cartouche and then equip my other gear and then put on my regular necklace. Now it appears I can't do that. Anybody else notice this?

Everytime, you change gear/zone it checks your UMD vs the gear you're wearing. It started during Beta. Guess it's working as intended.

It is actually very irritating, since you get the "You bypass the [whatever]" message EVERY time you change equipment, even if it has nothing to do with your UMD skill or a RR item. My Warchanter has some RR equipment, but I'm probably going to find some similar non-RR equipment just to get rid of the annoying message.
