Well I continue to ponder ideas for the upcoming duo pair with the wifey. We are set on halfling and she is set now on wizard/rogue (wizard primary).
With that in mind Im set on needing to be able to hold some agro, do some dps, and pick up the Dragonmarks (and extra use enhancements) to keep myself up.

So I am thinking of making myself a kneecap miner (well it seemed a good name for something swinging picks at everything elses knees)

Looking at fighter, the extra feats certainly make the dragonmarks seem much more affordable. I am now pondering going TWF and aiming for the kensai line. For my weapon I will go with picks (as the miner bit may suggest, and that combo of improved crit and kensai ending at 18-20 x 4 sounds delicious with some burst weapons on hand).

so.... I know we wont be up for the best duo award or anything, and WF would prob work better, we accept that, we just wanna pair of halflings more than we want to be uber. That said..

1. Does this sound passable for some casual duo play on normal?

2. When we feel like it, would we be more than dead weight when joining others?

3. Picks, does the small in increase in heavy pick base damage make OTWF worth a feat slot over just using light picks? (its just 1 more average damage if i figure it right)

4. Does stunning blow make hits auto crit? I feel the darkside grasping me from just the thought.

5. Is 16, 16, 14, 8, 8, 8 the way to go with this? plans are a +1 tome gets my dex through the TWF line, so im free to pump STR as far as i can from there.

My comments in lime.

Yep, no worries. I'd recommend the Halfling dragonmark line for healing, unless your friend is rolling a healer.

2. When we feel like it, would we be more than dead weight when joining others?
Most builds aren't dead weight, so long as you join others and complement their groups. Melee dp is always welcome in most parties, even if you're not needed to tank, so I wouldn't worry too much there.

3. Picks, does the small in increase in heavy pick base damage make OTWF worth a feat slot over just using light picks? (its just 1 more average damage if i figure it right)
Totally your call here. A pure Fighter should have the feats to nab OTWF without worry anyways, and others will argue that your BAB will be so high anyways that a -2 attack penalty without the feat won't affect you much at later levels anyways.

4. Does stunning blow make hits auto crit? I feel the darkside grasping me from just the thought.
Yep, stunned mobs = auto-crit. It's quite nice, especially with picks!

5. Is 16, 16, 14, 8, 8, 8 the way to go with this? plans are a +1 tome gets my dex through the TWF line, so im free to pump STR as far as i can from there.
It all depends what you're aiming to, or if you're planning to splash any other levels. That's not a bad setup for stats at all, although the 16 STR is costly for a Halfling. Maybe lower that to 14 and put the rest of the points elsewhere.

You have to come up with an origial name because KNEECAPSLAYER is being used by Bob's Mental Midgets!

@Aerendil - Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I could drop STR a point or two and spread those points out a bit.

Yo Mac!! WHat Server do you play on? If you're on Argo... give us a tell before you create him. We have a Guild of Kneecapslayers. All named Bobthe_____ Kneecapslayer.

Build them how you want... but they must be Halflings and all the names are similar. Pugs are a blast when you have 2-3 Bob's and the rest Non-Bob's.

ps... if you ever run into Bobthenut Kneecapslayer... DON'T ask him about his Crown! :D

I'm new to DDO and DD in general but this idea is exactly what I'm looking for.
I love the idea of having a little guy whacking away at things, critting a bunch, and being able to spot heal himself a little. Being a complete noob I do have a few questions though.

I picked Whilwind Fighter and let the games auto character creation wizard make my guy for me.
1. I was given the +hp feat and (I think) Two Weapon Fighting. Is anything messed up by me not picking something different?
2. What skills/feats/other things should I make sure to pick up? I know I want to get Kensai Heavy Picks 3 but I really have no clue how to get there.
3. Where can I find some picks? I've only completed the starter Sahagin quest but so far ive only seen swrods, maces, great axes, etc.
4. Ive read discussions about off handing a heavy pick requiring a certain feat, or being detrimental w/o a certain feat. Is there any chance I will miss the feat?
5. Im planning on blindly getting every Heavy Pick, Piercing (right type), and TWF perk/feat I can. Should I? Are there other things that I need to grab (I'm sure there are)
6. How do the Jewels of Fortune work? Is it worth it for a first time player to use one or two?

Looking at my questions it may have been easier to just request a build =D.
Also, Ive just barely gotten into the game, so If someone wants to say "delete and start over" I wont mind, its only been ~30-40mins of playtime so far.

Thanks in advance
