Trade Channel limited per area?

It seems the Trade channel on Cannith is limited to work in areas only, which is pretty restrictive and counter productive.
If you are in the Marketplace and you try to put up an item for trade only people in the marketplace and quests based there will see it, same thing in harbor, gianthold, meridia etc... (korthos is understandable).

While it would be nice for it to be world-wide, this is already a giganic improvement such that /trade, /general, and /advice all penetrate into the quests and wilderness areas associated with them. Right now, if you want to trade something, go to the marketplace, or to amrath, as that is where 90% of the server is.
