Character Planner bug? Or mis-use of Manyshot?

I am working a build that wants Manyshot @ level 12.

According to the planner, I have Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, DEX 19 and BAB 9/9/14, but I cannot get the planner to unlock Manyshot.

Is this a problem with the planner? Or might there be something else I am missing?

PS: Geoff, give us more detail on what did you do up to the point of trying to acquire manyshot
class lvl progress, feat choices, etc etc

It does matter because there was a bug with the planner that would not let a part ranger take feats that a ranger would normally be granted later.
So long as you have Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, DEX 17 and 6 BAB, you can pick up Manyshot.

So I may assume this is a bug and treat the rest of my build as if I had gotten Manyshot at 12?

p.s. not ignoring you Jay but would rather wait a few minutes and just post the build. It is maybe kind of weird (wow how different from my usual builds) but hopefully look better in full context.

yes as long as you have base dex stat of 17 and all of the other requirements you should be able to get the feat although I thought you had to have some ranger lvls (which you have said you have) as I thought manyshot was a class feat

It is nt a class feat - or at least is not any longer, IIRC it used to be.

I finished the build and now I don't know if I like it.

It is a favored soul with emphasis on debuffs and negative energy spells. To give it something to do the rest of the time (which will be a lot!) I gave it two levels of ranger and Arcane Archer.

It works. It will be a pretty debuffer, a very good nuker (against most enemies), and a decent second-tier archer.

But I wonder if I would be better off going FvS20 and using the free capstone ability when I get bored instead of ranging.

I was trying to work out a build like that myself and I couldn't make it come out to my satisfaction. I also kept hitting the wall that the best of the FvS was gained at the last 2 or 3 lvls. I'm still trying to think of something that will work but haven't come up with anything yet.
