Right now I'm playing the trial till the 9th. I am limited to 2 character slots... Please tell me when I have access to unlimited I will have more! I plan on spending money on the store but I can't for awhile and I really hope I don't end up with only 2 until I purchase more slots! Also, I'd like to know if there are gamecards for DDO store points in walmart or other stores..

VIP's get 10 slots, and F2P start with 2. More cane be bought the the DDO store though.
**EDIT** Slots are per server

If you are playing the game as free-to-play, you are limited to 2 character slots; you can, of course, buy more from the store.
If you have a premium account you have 4 slots. (not sure exactly how you get premium, but I think you are upgraded as soon as you pay real money for turbine points; or if you downgrade from VIP, you become premium).
VIPs have 10 character slots (plus all those other perks, that aren't really perks for someone who has been a subscriber, but which make the game much more enjoyable over f2p).

ex-VIPs are premium accounts
so go to your local game store and pick up a copy of DDO for $5 or so and shove it on your account, 30 days for $5 and premium account isn't too bad if you ask me :p:p:p:p

you also become premium (4 slots, no limits on mail, AH, gold) if you buy even the cheapest package of Turbine points once.

where do you buy turbine points at?
in the game store, or on a web page out of game?
I've been in beta so I keep getting free points, but I have no idea where to buy them from.

Yeah, if you purchase Turbine Points you become a Premium account and thus have 4 slots per server.
To buy TP you need to have a registered Credit Card, as far as I know, and when you open the DDO Store there's a button over on the top right of the Store window which says something like Get More. Aside from registering the CC it's all done in game. I did it all in game and when I went to purchase the TP it took me to the place to register the card and then back. Otherwise you can register a card by going to the www.ddo.com (http://www.ddo.com) site and clicking on My Account. Then log in to the Manage Turbine Account area, bottom left frame.

**EDIT** Slots are per serverAre you certain?
The extra slots I've bought are persistent on all servers, not just the one I was logged into when I bought them. Based on that, I'd say the unlocked slots are universal - since I know for certain I've not bought five extra character slots on every live server...

was referring to how many you start with. not sure what happens with bought slots, but makes scene that if you buy an extra slot you would get it on each server.
**also be careful w/ bought slots and transfers. a guildie transfered a toon and then bought a slot, but since the transfer put him up to 11 he didn't get the extra slot on his main server**
