Recent Update = Fewer Good Items on AH?

I've noticed (I'm sure there's a reason that I just don't understand) that many of the loot items I'm receiving since the latest update are bound to my account, which means I cannot put them on the AH. I've been paying attention to the AH over the past few days since the update, and I'm seeing fewer and fewer quality items on there, probably because a lot of others are getting things they too cannot put on the AH.

For example, I'm a level 5 Cleric, and on a recent set of quests I picked up a +2 Heavy Mace and a +2 Heavy Shield, neither of which I was allowed to put on the AH. I would say 90% of the "quality" loot I've been getting lately can only be sold to the vendors (and often times only to the General Vendor).

I am a relatively new player, and I'm sure there are things going on that I do not appreciate. I used to be able to put nearly all of my equipment on the AH, and now I can put very little. I would love to learn more about what is going on behind the scenes, and if anyone else shares my concern.

The only bound items I have run into at the lower levels have been through some of the chain quests like my rewards from WW and STK. I think the lack of "good low level gear" has more to do with people jumping on their now un-capped characters and running high level quests. What do they pull from there? Not level 2-8 gear. So the people who were running their casual "lowbies" or running characters through mid-ranged quests for favor and picking up the chests as they go. That means that "extra" equipment they didn't need and figured someone might want for a small fee are not going into the AH. I think you will find the level 4 and level 6-8 vendors don't have much on them either right now.

The other thing probably causing this is that right now a lot of people have started new characters so anything they do pull in that level range gets shunted to their new character or a friend's instead of being sold.
