The Following is a list of popular Guilds and or DDO Character Names that had their names on Cannith hijacked.

They are not who you think they are.

I guess its within their rights to take the names if they were first, but this person(Or people) have done this with nothing but Malice.

If your name was also taken, Please send me a PM or post here and I will add it to the list. I will not be adding Common names that you were just to slow to get.. For example, Jerry also is taken on cannith, but theres no real reason to assume people are going to think of "Jerry Snook" Every time they see that name.

Sorry to Hear that Impaqt. My main home is the same as yours and we've grouped together a few times so I would have naturally looked for you guy's when I'm on so it's good to know there are a bunch of impostures running around now.

I agree that some better known DDO figures would like to have thier same character names on every server. I can see that with the open availability from a new server, the chances of having the name you want should be close to perfect. However, this system of having your desired character name the same on ALL servers has never been true unless you picked it first. Why should Cannith be any different.

As for Guild names. That is another story. Those players starting a guild that has already been around and they have not been a part of is just plain wack. Kind of silly and ultimatly lame, but more over just wack.

I understand again that the hopes for everyone getting the names they wanted was in fact high. I'm also sure that there are plenty of players out there playing jokes and having a laugh playing characters with specific names.

Helpful reminder. If you are worried about ppl thinking you are you and you aren't you on one server or another, add the server name in your forum signature next to the list of characters.

I totally agree with ya to a point bunk. But some names ARE that person. They arent common and its not easy to just pick that name at random. If someone had grabbed "Alandale" for example, I wouldnt of blinked... Theres nothig really unique about that name... but the 2 listed here are icons of the DDO Community. This is Harrasment imo.

Sure, all names are first come, first to get. But it's very likely that my and Rowanheal's names (and the guild names) were taken just to be spiteful and weak. It's not like they were "common" names and we just got unlucky.

Honestly, I doubt people will be playing these characters and guilds on Cannith, it would be foolish to do so. My guess is the person (or persons) just grabbed the names to be a jerk and then headed back to their regular server.

Its silly. Considering how many times either Jerry or I get asked to do things, or cover an event or so forth on other servers, it chaps my hide that someone thought this would be funny.

I am not amused in the least.

If that one person took all those names and guild names Turbine may be able to rectify since it was done in spite, and also seem to be gloating about it.

IMO there should be some names of very well known players that are off limits.

Rowanheal and Jerry are two of them.

Guild names, too, should have been off limits.

I don't suppose there is any easy way for Turbine to have set that as a rule or enforced it and I can see the hew and cry if they went in and started making name changes.

But, for any forum personage with a Turbine supplied byline there should be something that can be done as taking THEIR names is obviously done just to fool people and to give grief.

If a player believes that they're being griefed or harassed by a another player please file a harassment ticket. Otherwise, consistent with our policy, we'd appreciate it if players would refrain from singling out other players or characters in forum posts.
