I was getting the can't connect to server error. With that problem resolved I'm now getting "game error 201, Can't open the datea files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them." The error message seems to hit 3 times before it exits

Well, for whatever reason it couldn't connect to the login servers (kept getting a big fat red X) but it connected now. I suppose they could have been overloaded or something.

Now to find a way to keep myself logged in until it's a cold day in hell :)

All the files were there... the patch directories were empty the way they were supposed to be.. which brought me to the final step "uninstall and reinstall"

Are you sure there is not another issue ? Logged in a while ago, started the download. Then somehow I lost the connection and got an error message - stupid me did not copy it.
Now the login fails. I already get a new picture when starting DDO EU but login fails with no message.
Any idea ? Would like to finish the download.

I'm the opposite. Had both my husband's account and mine logged in earlier today testing it to make sure we'd be ready to play when he got home. I finally got to the server and was able to log in. He's stuck on Examine Programs and no matter how many times he restarts the sequence, he get stuck there.

It's sad to think that we played almost everyday when everyone else got disgusted and left and now people are coming back for free and we can't log in. LOL. ::sighs::

Ok folks. This is becoming annoying. Either cant connect, or I get stuck in one of the "pre-load" subroutines. Compound that with loosing 6k in BETA purchased Turbine points, and I've just about had it with DDO. I must admit, this IS a great way to generate revenue. Almost like stealing, but not quite, eh?

Okay, this is really strange. Am going to try rebooting my whole system, see if that does anything. Yesterday, first time I logged in, I logged in from my Lammania icon (by accident), and it connected me to the live servers no problem (this was after installing the Eberron Unlimited update). Had to log off. Went to log in later from the Stormreach icon, and it does a little bitty game update, says the game has to restart, and will restart in x seconds and I then get the message could not install something installhelper.dll, error 32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." Then you hit okay on that error box, the same thing happens again, only this time when it restarts the client, it just doesn't make a connection.

I'm going to do a whole reboot of my system, and am going to try it again, but is anyone else having this problem? I find it odd that I can log into the live servers (and I know its the live servers because I hooked up with my husband) from the lammania icon, but not from the stormreach icon (and evidently I'm missing a little bit of game data update doing it that way as well).

Edit: Nope, rebooting the whole system didn't do a darn thing. Still can't log on that way.

I get to the Examine games data, and it'slike I freeze there... it keeps examining. I went to bed, woke up, still examining. I know it's a lot of data, but sheesh... please advise, I would really like to play the new mod.

So what exactly is happening when the launcher examines data and programs? Why is it hanging up now when it never did before? I've defragged thinking the file was too fragmented, I've rebooted my computer. I can't think of anything else to do to make it work. I am hanging on programs for a good 10 minutes and when it moves on, it hangs again at data. I cannot get past that point.

If it is sheer volume, isn't there a way to identify VIP members and put us at the head of the list? If it is looking to see if I have the latest updates, isn't there a way to write the last update taken for my computer into a file and just check the version and date against the latest?

I am sure the devs are totally frustrated by this as well and there are volumes upon volumes of frustration by users on the forums; but..jeeze..first no new content but easy peasy getting in. Now there's all that new content and you can't get to it!
