View Full Version : What'd You Do Last Night?

While on my forced sebaticle from DDO, I was pondering what I could do with my evening of free time. I got home from the gym, cleaned out my car and washed the windows. Played with the dogs a bit longer than usual, cleaned up after my sloppy-azz roommates, and then I started up this "Castle Age" thing on Facebook while I watched my DVR of the new Futurama movie. The Castle Age game was pretty fun and the time passed pretty quick!
So what'd you do in lieu of DDO? :D

Pushed my daughter 5 miles in a jogging stroller. Played dolls with her, and then made up stories as I put her to bed....
....and then dealt with her melt down as she kept getting out of bed. (this is the point where I would have normally abandoned my wife to play DDO)

I sat online with my guildies discussing the compendium notes and the current outstanding issues, summarized the good and the bad and sent off emails to those of our guild overseas so they could get caught up on the changes. It was a great night of discussion and assumptions. Good times!

I slept :) It's been a while and I kept waking up in a cold sweat ...I guess it was DDO withdrawal!

I tried to have sex with my wife. I rolled a 1 on my diplomacy check. Ended up watching a movie and going to bed early instead. :(

Robi,
next time put on the Diplo and CHR items, and get some house P buffs. She will see the effort you put into it and reward you more than XP.

I scouted a frontier wilderness of a remote world where the "Word of Blake" was stated to have set up shop. I sent a company of mechs out to investigate, a scout lance, an assault lance, and then a fairly mobile attack lance.
The information was good but the opposition was fairly heavy. I had a few well trained mechwarriors since we are part of the 7th Lyran Regulars, many of us mercenaries previous to our employment in the LCAF. They immediately recognized that the Word of Blake forces had us ranged with a few Long Range Missile carriers up on a hill. Using energy weapons we started fires between us and the enemy which allowed us to block LoS and switch our ECM over to generating false targets.
I sent my scout lance down the east flank where they found a handy gully they could travel down out of sight and sensor range of the enemy mechs. Realizing a few of his targets were false readings generated by my personal Atlas' ECM suite my opponent quickly sent his own scout mechs that way to cut them off. His superior C3i equipment linking half his force into a shared network meant the minute they were spotted they were in trouble.
My opponent kept my Atlas rocking by bombarding me with LRM fire until I could order the Dragon Fire forward and envelope his linked spotting mech in two ECM fields overriding his fire control. Meanwhile my Devestator found himself presented with an ideal shot on a Centurion and blew holes through the Word of Blake mech. My Hunchback had taken some withering fire from that mech and several others as well as a salvo shot form the LRMs earlier. While no systems were critical I ordered him to seek cover in the woods as his armor was punctured in several locations.
------------------------------------------------------------------
About midnight my buddy and I saved our game the BV of each force having gone down about the same amount. So far it was a good game where we had each lost a mech. My scout lance was in a position to get a few good shots off on his LRM carriers, my Atlas had entered battle at long last, and a few mechs on both sides were shot up. The battle could still go either way and I believe next Monday we will see which way the coin falls.

I'm jealous. Are you using MegaMek? I have the latest version as of Aug 17th.

Heck yeah... Sadly I can't figure out which option allows my Rifleman RFL-8D to properly fire his 2 Rotary AC5s. When I tested it out it worked fine but my friend must not have had the option checked on his server so I had very large heavy single shot AC5s with way too much ammo.:(
I am thinking I need to have TacOps Rapidfire Autocannons on, but I thought that only affected normal AC2s and AC5s.

I'm not sure what to tell you. I haven't used MegaMek in a long long long time. Just downloaded it, and will be trying to run my first game with it tomorrow night.
When I was at GenCon, someone reminded me about it during CBT Canon Events 2 and 3.

Will there be an Eberron "Firesale"?

Ran 10km.
Had dinner (beans on toast).
Cleaned the house.
Watched Children of Dune DVD.
Went to bed :p
Terribly unexciting I'm sure, but yeah. That's it.
Today = work, then run, then GI Joe at the theatre, so probably won't be in Cannith until tomorrow. It'll be interesting to spend an hour in character creation trying to get a name, and then seeing all the level 10+ geeks who have played for the last 24 hours straight running around.

Dug out my old copy of Risk II, conquered the world. Watched True Blood. Went to sleep a solid 3 hours earlier than I usually do.
The sleep part didn't work-tossed and turned. Got up every couple of hours and checked to see if I could start patching. Still couldn't patch by the time time for work came by.......
Hopefully I'll be able to patch when I get home-let it run while I take a nap!

I think I need to start forward some of these threads to a Psychologist buddy of mine. He is fascinated by online interaction and phenomenon. The addiction potential would keep him busy a long time.

I dont know whats more disturbing. The fact that you are attempting to play while watchng your infant , pulling the 1-hander, or the fact that you actually have the game set up right next to your bed. LOL - just messing, but seriously!
