1) I organized all my toons inventory.
2) Made sure each toon has a Voice of the Master. Ran Deleras last night in 20 mins with 2 guildies.
3) Parked my capped toons at the entrance to Threnal.
4) Cleaned hard drive and defragged.
5) I set my alarm to wake up at 7 a.m. to check server status.

Regarding #3 - Ouch - That's a fair bit away from any actual xp spot for a capped character :)

I organized banks a few weeks ago so I worked on different slayers to get 1-2 pts away on everyone. They are spread out though - some in reaver's, some in the vale, some even in GH.

I thought about Delera's but in the end only 2 characters didn't have one already so I said screw it.

Not really, you go into Threnal and kill the first few giants for optional xp and bam, you're level 17. I did this on the test server. Takes like 10 seconds.

I did nothing, and to be honest, I will be removing voice of the master from my toons. I am almost 100% sure we will have atleast a year to level our toons. Though I am 95% sure that we will not ever see another level increase. Leveling a toon is one of the things that actually makes me play a toon. Once at endgame, once again, there will be VERY little to do in the game. Hell, I've been playing other mmo's for the last five months or so anyway.

1. Moved all inventory in banks to the first 2 slots, leaving last slot open (from the bug where not all bank items showed.. that way if i need to bank something I work from the back to the front)
2. LOCKED DOWN EVERYTHING .. even components and wands
3. Took out all mail (even on the lowbies) and auctions.. locked those down too
4. Parked all toons in Restless isles (for easy xp gaining)
5. Changed MotD in guild to say "Welcome to Mod 9" with a whole bunch of +~+~** icons
6. with 30 seconds till server meltdown, I made a toon.. I briefly saw the name on my toon selection screen before getting booted.. YAY named saved
7. Set alarm on my phone for 4am pst
8. Took minos legions off ALL of my toons so HP bug doesn't affect them
9. Gave all my toons toughness that were using the helm for the feat (and realised some of my toons had USELESS feats that I was glad to take out)

I'm sure I'm missing something.. but all of that took me roughly 1.5 hours last night after completing the last abbot of the season..

I spent two hours rifling through inventories and bank spaces and sending soon to be crappy half decent junk i'd been holding on to for 2 years or more to my hagglebot for disposal - made 180kpp last night at the vendor, absolutely swamped that sucker.

After that i rearranged weapon sets and made sure every toon had full stacks of potions and scrolls, and all my casters had full stacks of components. Rogues received 2 fresh sets of +5 tools, and my rangers got a few fresh stacks of arrows from house D.

After everybody had what they needed i advised the guild to do the same and made sure i had no outstanding mail floating around, then logged for the end of mod 8 and crossed my fingers for mod 9.

My mistake. I was under the impression that threnal was changed to sub level 16 xp.

i have been undertaking a strict diet and weights regime, with lots of cardio work included for the last 6 months. i also had my eyes lasered to sharpen my vision and tried some electro-shock therapy - purported to improve reflexes (this is still in the early experimental stage). on the whole, i am in peak condition.

i have also locked my wife and young son away in the basement with rations to last for at least a week, maybe 10 days if they are frugal.

the telephone has been disconnected and i have boarded up all doors and windows to the house, and installed a diesel generator in case power were to drop out.

i have a mountain of assorted crisps behind me, and the coffee machine is now installed beside me. i flirted with the idea of a colostomy bag and catheter, but simply settled for switching my regular chair for a portable toilet.

i am good to go!

1 - Always log with my Inventory organized :D.

2 - That was a fun run - Haste + Firewall/DBF sure is fun in there!

3 - ditto with two, but as you know have my Sorcy standing above (Subterrean) first of six explorer areas he needs to visit to fulfill my quest to hit level 18 in 8 minutes or less...

4 - not a bad idea, but I have time (see below).

5 - Gotta work, but am jealous of all you with the day off! I do truly hope all goes well tomorrow and you all get to play all day!

My plan began many months ago <evil laugh>

Realizing the new content was some ways a way, I decided to hurry and buy a house. Closed last Thursday. Moved and unpacked this past weekend. Internet hooked up this afternoon. Scheduled this week off on vacation for work. Stocked up on everything I may need for the coming week. Whew!

My ten character's inventories and bank space are cleaned up. Consumables stocked up. Leveling planned out.

Ready to go!

nice :D

I sent the wife to the mother in laws for the next week - my basement is not well enough insulated to muffle her cries for help or potty access (she would've refused the 5 gallon bucket) :D

Had her take the dogs with her and put both cats outside - no kids to contend with so that part was easy.

All the curtains have been drawn, the mail is being held at the post office and work thinks Im going out of town.

Inventory was organized over all five servers for the past week, excess junk sold, extra toons eliminated and name savers put into place. Cash condensed (dang I'm broke) and all set and ready to hit Cannith running.

Fingers are crossed, prayers have been ... I have done all I can do ;)

Buy another slot with your free Turbine Points and roll up a new character.

Then I put all my chars on their shroud timers, organized my invos, bought a bunch of twink items that showed up at the vendors (+1 scimitar of pure good min level 2? yes please!), and then realized I shouldntve ran shroud because i didnt pull enough scales to finish my crafting :(

My last 60 days or so have mostly been goofing off in a holding pattern. I've been working towards the new module since I rejoined the game last year (after a six month break).

Some of the work has been to rebuild feat lists when after analysis, I decided to try to go to a different direction with a character (because of game mechanic changes). Sadly, as a tribute to the clunky system, often to get a single feat, I ended up tearing down 2 or 3 and then putting them back in a different order.

Full Character respec is overdue.

I also attempted this on the test server and at least in the last version that was available it's 0 xp for a level 16 character. There's also a thread from a few weeks ago about it here (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=195077).

I did not play much on the BETA server (prefer to wait for live) but I DID level my Sorcy to 17 in Threnal.

It used to be you could just kill that first Giant chasing humans towards entrance, now you have to run in a bit and kill the Giants and Wolves at the Camp fire for a bit of XP.

Remember, you only need 1 xp to ding 17 on a capped character...

I leveled my sword & board pally to 16, and retired him indefinitly. Sorry Nuradin you were alot of fun shield-blocking, healing and doing some killing too. Hope to see you again someday.

That being said I sent a gift vorpal khopesh a guildy sent to me to the leader of my guild...me.

He can now duel-wield the Chaosblade and the Vorpal! l also sent my cure potions and haste potions to what will be my main.

I then perched the character on a pillar looking towards the old marketplace tent...

Swapped out a few feats to qualify for certain PrEs. Swapping after the go-live is gonna be expensive shard-wise.
Made sure I had no uber items in the mail.
Did a last swoop on the AH to grab/bid on cheap stuff.

1. Did not organize toons backpacks / mailboxes
2. Did not gather extra supplies
3. Became hooked on Beta.
4. Quit my Job. I did not need it anyway. I have enough to last until I need another.
5. Gathered 2 cases Mtn Dew.
6. Cancelled my normal DnD TT game for a week.
7. Canceled my normal WW VtDA/Transylvania Chronicles, game for a week.
8. Sat and watched the time go by until Mod9 appears on the 1st.

9*. Watched the trailer for the new Star Wars the Old Republic MMO that comes out next year and contemplated if I truly wanted release dates to ALWAYS be pushed back.
10*. Decided DDO will continue to have my support and gives Turbine a chance to redeem itself until Star Wars:tOR comes out... Then I will make the decision to stay or go...
11. Hopes Turbine will redeem itself.

Made a list of about 20 character names to reserve on the new server...
Ran Greymoon-Co6 and completed it in the last hour that the servers were up...
Swapped a feat on my Sorcerer, now that Puncturing won't kill anything, and level 13-16 will require even bigger Dragonshards...
