Are you planning on going to Cannith?
Why? Something new/boredom? A challenge? To help new players and contribute to the success of the DDO? To replay the game as a new player? Or to pwn some noob ass in PvP? Or because the monty haul that took years for servers to get to wont happen here for a few months?
If you are planning on going whether permanent or just to play around I am curious who is going and why?
For fun noone having twink gear and all starting from same point should be fun wont be my main place to play but I am going to have a great time.

Several reasons.
I have chars on all servers already.
Will still play my old ones too.
Will try to get some names I want for chars.
Love to see how build and player skill will work when no one else has tweaked chars.
I like the idea of an LFM page that has no Reavers and Shrouds on it.
I think there will be a lot of old players there and a lot of new players.
Hopefully I can meet up with some of the good ones and see what they are like without their greensteel.
And yeah.....I like showing off to newbies too.

I have capped toons on every server. Cannith i wont.
I have capped toons on every server on two accounts. Cannith i wont.
I have more money than i'll ever use on two accounts on each server. Cannith i wont.
I like to help new people. Cannith i can.
If i can help one person, and that person decides to stay with ddo and helps one other person, then i've done what i set out to do and i'll be happy.
Thats it.

I'm considering it and seeing if maybe some of my guild mate's would give it a go.
I think it would be challenging to have everyone starting from ground zero don’t you?
I would still play my Main's but for a change it would be nice to have an alternate more challenging option. :)

well, to be more accurate, i dont have both accounts full of capped toons on all servers. some have more than others, but at least one toon on each account on each server is capped. Most have more than one.

I'll do something there eventually, however I have a lot of other toons I will want to level. I'm sure I will play around on there right away a little just to see how it is being on an untwinked server.

A new server is a great idea for the influx of new people but I have been there-done that. I want to move forward. Some of the veteran players have noble intentions but when I experience a game for the first time, I don't need anyone holding my hand. I'm leaving this server to the noobs. Let them enjoy, learn, and develop their own ways of doing things.
But hey, to each his own....

I'll be there - nice to restart on a level playing field, even if for a little while (after a year off, I'm way behind on Argo :)).
lets see,
1} new content,
2}12 capped toons to lvl.
3 }loot tables to beat down before the devs turn em down.
cannith,
well if ever >it will be a long time, that list will keep me busy till mod 10.

Old School is almost always better it seems. Like when Everquest was around 5 years old, nearly everyone i talked to wished they were back in the "good ol days" of the first year and a half or so. when you look at your bank account and you have a million plat just sitting there and you have 8 twinks with max gear....the game loses some of its appeal and flavor; you want to once again feel like you're accomplishing something. a new server like this always brings the people who want to have fun; this is what it's all about! enjoy it while you can.
As a returning founder, I will be heading straight to Cannith. I LOVE the idea of starting new. I am also bringing 3 founders who had dropped out with me.
Cheers

I want to reserve my names.
I also want to get a few of my favourite classes to lvl5-6 so as to avoid a lot of heartache on the 9th....
Also, I have just gotten 1750 on the last of the 5 live servers so I am well used to capping a 28 pointer with no gear :)

I will reserve names and yes I will play on Cannith.
I'll request that some of my guildmates on Argo do the same...

You can purchase 32 pointers if you so desire...

My guess, Turbine spent some money on a server with some horsepower. I want to see it.
Since no one will be doing RAIDS until Wednesday or Thursday you would think there would be ZERO lag. If lag persists, then I think the current lag theories by Turbine go down the toilet.
Turbine needs the high capacity server to be tested. I like the idea of testing in a LIVE environment. This will be playing on Lamannia but not, because this server will stay up with no threat to delete your toons. (maybe:D)
I think many of the more experienced players will be there from the five servers. I fully expect to play with people that KNOW how to play.
Least important on my list is reserving a name. I guarantee that I will not do character creation more than twice before I get brain numb on that. Not to mention, I need better names anyway.

To say "Hi" to a new server.
To see if it actually seems to attract newer players, and see what the LFM/LFG sitution looks like for its first month.
To play quest guide, if some newer players want one.
To lock down a couple of names.
You can purchase 32 pointers if you so desire...
Wait, what?

might be fun to see some pvp dominated by lvl 3 characters with masterwork junk rather than lvl 16 crazy buffed GS toting bunny hopping idiot.

I will definitely be rolling up a girl or two on here but like Risia they will probably be experimental for when Im in the mood to get away from the main servers and wont be seriously played for a long time. Ive got too many alts I'll be working on getting them towards twenty, new builds that ive planned for months waiting on the release. And look forward to running with my guilds again I can see this launch bringing many people back for a bit and many have returned the last few days to the guild I belong to on Sarlona for many levels and im sure it will be the same on Thelanis.
So yep expect Kal to be on Cannith in some form but very limited form for sure.

Going to try & get some guildies over there 1 night a week to lvl some toons
with no twinking, gonna try and get that old pnp tight-a$$d Dungeon Master
feeling where you must earn everything you get and share within the group.
Looking forward to getting excited when I pull a +1 whatever of pure good.
See you all there

im looking for the fresh start, with no twinking temptations whatsoever, and also it'll be interesting helping out noobs and watching them fumble their way around when im stuck down on their gear level lol
Also that a lot of new players will be honing in on this server and would be nice to sort out an playerbase for people from the "obnoxious" timezones lol *refer my post in the guilds section*

...up 10 toons on cannith before i do anything else tomorrow in hopes of reserving my favorite names. I like the idea (and challange) of playing in a fresh no-twink environment. I will not be abandoning my home server though or requesting any character transfers.

Nope. FvS only.
But I now have 1 raiding character on every server.
A character that also is in a lot stronger position to grind favour, and twink out my new 32 pointers :)
That and I like to earn my rewards, which is why mod9 may just make me never PUG again...

For the same reason we've run shrouds with silver flame clubs, or completely naked no equipment no components raids, or done a shroud speed record: For the challenge.
It's WAY too tempting to not twink new chars in my main server, specially when everyone else around you is twinked. Mind you, with playing skill I noticed I could outshine twinked chars during the first 6 or so levels with nothing but korthos equipment. Gives me a chuckle when I get asked after the quest in a hushed voice "what equipment are you using..?"
As to what I will actually roll? Hard to say. Perhaps a caster, although a melee is also enticing.

Is there anything that stops one from transferring a 32 point character over to Cannith? I would love to play on the fresh server but the idea of grinding out 1750 favor on the new server and then tossing that character away really bugs me. Just about all the characters I love require a wide spread of points, or at least drow.

I am going to Cannith because I snagged all the names of all my old PnP characters.
Job one will be earning back 1750 favor on my new grind for favor toon, Seven (I passed on Seven Eleven and Seven of Nine as I figured that would force a rename -- but I was strongly tempted :)).
I will keep playing on Ghallanda in the late evenings until it all settles in. But the move will be permanent -- with character transfers as soon as they are allowed. Meanwhile I will keep focusing on Cratesmasher and Therindal over on Ghallanda but precious little else.

Will have a character or 2 on this server. I've a few friends from Sarlona also joining us there once or twice a week. It will be us few that have played for years that will begin the slow process of building a stable economy.
