Ok, so I am a little conscerned that the reputation system is being abused.

I politely posted "well written" on a controversial topic. Then posted requesting info on how to reach Patience on my conscern of forum moderation bias.

I get my first negative rep for doing so.

I posted about it and people begin to post back in support of my position.

NO NEGATIVE POSTS ON THE THREAD...... BUT IT GETS CLOSED!

WHY?

Once again I am moderated. The only post by Tolero when closing the thread was to say "This is going nowhere good quickly."

EXACTLY WHAT WAS AGAINST THE FORUM RULES??????
WHAT WAS NEGATIVE IN THE THREAD????????

I was moderated because I mentioned bias on the part of the moderators. Then they had to prove me right.

The thread wasnt even about the bias, it was about the reputation system being abused. About people using it to punish people about their views and not the way they post. Is talking about the reputation system off limits? Or was it closed because people were supporting me?

I understand your arguement, but you have to let it go man. It's not going to change anything with these posts.

NO NEGATIVE POSTS ON THE THREAD...... BUT IT GETS CLOSED!

WHY?I was a little flabbergasted by that closing as well. It seemed to be a lighthearted conversation that was going... pretty well by forum standards, actually.

However, expect this one to be closed promptly as well - since re-posting closed/deleted topics as well as discussion of Forum Moderation tend to be against the rules.

I think they answered it before:
If you don't like the negative rep, turn it off.

I guess the people who gave you negative rep are tired of seeing the same things come up over and over again. Or, they disagree with your opinion that something was well written. - Why are you mad that someone doesn't agree with your opinion?

Also, it is obvious that when you know the staff member's name, you can send a PM. Therefore, the post comes across as a "threat" as in "I am gonna tell your mommy that you aren't playing nice" - instead of you just sending the PM.

Opening another thread about a thread that was locked is also against the rules, so this thread will lock in 15 minutes... or whenever Tolorero gets back from lunch ;)

A quick hint before this gets locked down.

TURN OFF THE ******** REPUTATION SYSTEM AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT!

lol don't sweat it man. I have been playing DDO since release and only in the past month have I used the forum to see what the hold up is with eu and mod9. The rating system is just to give people ego's. IMO go play, it's more fun then the forums. )

Also devs are like cops they won't bother you if you don't show them attention!

Well so far we have:

- Reopening a closed discussion
- A thread that inadvertently turned into a rep farming thread which we have previously stated was not permitted on the boards.
- and we already have an outstanding rule that moderation discussion is not permitted. You can contact us privately about moderation concerns but making posts about it is against the forum guidelines.

Hope this clarifies.
