I'm not sure if I did this right.. I went with an extra level of Rogue because I wanted a couple more rogue skills.
what are baseline skills for UMD, Disable, Locks, Search, Hide/Sneak etc.

Not bad but I would put no points in DEX, take some out of STR (bring down to 10), and raise CON and CHA, and max INT. Swap Finesse for Insightful Reflexes and nuke away!

Edit: drop the TWF feats as well, get other metamagics or more HP thru toughness.

Thanks for the input, my reason for the additional dex and 2 weapon fighting was because I enjoy poking things periodically. I found in my test on the beta server (only made it to lv 5) that I could fairly effectively buff and poke things to death. I was actually considering building a rogue13/wizy7 but since I've never actually seen one of those I'm guessing that they are a sub-par experience.

Just because you don't see one doesn't mean it wont work. that actually sounds kinda fun. If you were to do it, I'd recommend 2 levels of rogue to start then add all 7 wizzie levels. That idea probably will look a lot better at level 20 than at 10 tho.

Aye, Precious enjoys poking stuff too. It took a lot of time and grinding to get his equipment the way that I wanted it, but it's not a chore if you enjoy playing the character.

Poking things is fun even for a mostly wizard.

My Drow sorc 12 pal 3 rog 2 is planning to take the next 3 levels in pally for more poking things.

I would wonder about Eschew materials and acrobatic as feat choices and reccomend Toughness as did someone else since with the racial enchancement this worth 43 hp at the end level.

midlevels are harder for this build since you're a weak fighter with only marginal spells at that point - you can advantage by being a trap monkey though.

Search and disable in the 50s is good

Open Lock can be 40+ or even lower if you are a bit patient.

UMD for items needs to be mid20s-30 for more powerful items I think it may be 40 for raise dead scrolls.

Looks good. But if possible try to go for Rogue2/Wizard18 (for tier 3 PrE).

I would go with Con 12, Wis 8. Wizards don't get alot of HPs :/

You can swap Enchew, Weapon Focus:Pierce and Mental Toughness for Maximize, Toughness and Quicken.

Maximize for some nuke, Toughness for more HPs (also opens up HP enhancements), Quicken so you never fail to cast a spell. If you go with Quicken then you have no real need for Conc skill.

Poke is good thing :) The trick is that you will not be the best caster around, but poke should give you the missing power. Also high end monsters have so high SR and saves that spells don't work so good. Poke does.

My main is a Drow 13Wizard/3rogue Arcane trickster. He has 34 dex/30int now with 60 AC twf with just 2 spell buffs. I have not decided what to do for levels 17-20 yet. 15/4/1fighter is one option, taking fighter last for gtwf. Other options:

13wiz/6rogue/1fighter skills, sneak attack, acrobat(showtime)
13wiz/5rogue/2fighter skills, sneak attack, feat

It all depends if you want to fight more or cast more.

All of my wizards have some way to help out in the event I don't want to cast spells. Samius my main is a single class wizard he has 2 weapon fighting and weapon finesse and uses ss and rapiers to “poke” monsters to death even at the end game. I wont be the kill leader this way but I can take a monster down in a mob of 6-7 why the real fighters take the rest, and most of the time the mobs will be mad at me anyway. And if i am standing and fighting then the fighters don't need to chase the baddies. Go Go FireWall!

Just do what feels right, but don't be a drain on the party, as long as you are helping then have fun any way you want!
