View Full Version : Lag Comparision Shroud Run Tonight.

I was talking to Aspendor in another thread about Lag in the Shroud. I suggested he try this, but I want to try it myself.

I was surprised to see him say that hes the only one inhis groups that experince the debitating lag we so often see here on thelanis in Parts 4 and 5 of the shroud. We've almost gotten used to it at this point.

SOheres what I want to try.. Just for my own curiosity more than anything.

I want to build a Super High DPS Group to bring in there. 2 Clerics, 1 Arcane, 1 Warchanter, 8 Heavy DPS.

Rnd 1-3 Run Normally.

Going into part 4, We buff up Normally but for the first round against the it Fiend, I want everyone to use plain ole +x Weapons. No Greensteel. No Transmuters, No Bursts, No Elemental Effects. No Nothin.

After the round is over, We switch to our Uber DPS weapons and take him out in Round 2.

If it goes into a Round 3 for some reason, I will compensate the clerics for any mana pots used.

We can then post our findings and compare the lag we experienced during each round.

This is something that speed shroud folks on Sarlona have experimented with. They believe that it does reduce lag if you go with transmuters over shroud weapons. Although not debilitating there is also alot of lag on part 1 of the shroud. You could probably do a measure just by running part 1 a few times while hitting on the portals. Once with greensteel and once without.

It would stand to reason, the less complicated calculations that need to go back & forth.. the less potential for lag. Maybe also no clickies on the first normal weapon run, no ice cloak, etc.
