I find it extremely unacceptable that I have to disable my UAC to be able to even play this game.
My OS is 64bit Vista and I tried the work-around that the tech support offered for the "unable to run game as administrator" and it did not work and had to search for other users having the same problem and find an answer FROM THEM.
The only way I could play the game was to disable UAC, reboot my computer, and to have a security threat effectively reducing the 10day free trial to 1hour for me.
If this is going to be a problem for the Mod9 release I don't see many people getting passed the "unable to run as administrator" problem and even less willing to make the computer permanently vulnerable just to play the game.
For the little time that I did play the game seemed great, I really hope this issue gets resolved.

I might be wrong on this, but ""unable to run as administrator" seems to be windows issue not DDO's.

Vista is a piece of cr@p to be honest...

Disabling UAC is one of the better things you can do for your Vista install..

Once you've disabled UAC, you can change the way that Window's Security Center notifies you that it doesn't agree with your security choices.
In the Security Center, on the left side, click on 'Change the way Security Center notifies me of problems" and select on of the less intrusive options - i usually go for the "Not Recommended" solution of hiding the icon and disabling messages as I know that I don't have microsoft's recommended firewall, update or UAC settings and really don't care to be reminded of it every 10 seconds :D

I have both 64 bit vista and windows 7. Neither has any issue running DDO on my machine.

Never had a problem running DDO on vista.. Of course the first think I do when I get a new machine with vista is turn UAC off.

Turned mine off over a year ago. Have not had one issue with it since. The only issue i had with ddo is i had to download it to a different folder than it originally wanted. but i'm sure that was a user error, not a ddo or OS error.
