You guys pushed the new Mod back a month. We were not happy, but we dealt with it. On Sep 9th I would highly suggest that Mod 9 is released on time and without a delay or I am afraid that you will loose some(EVEN MORE/REST) of the players that have made this game what it is and have stuck by you through-shall we say-rough times. If I can speak for the DDO community, we are all looking forward to this long overdo Mod! Thank you for your "ear"!

Ph

All I am saying is what everyone already knows-that this Mod is well over do and I hope the powers that be get it out on time(Sep 9th) with no hold ups!!

Listen to the latest ddocast, it indirectly explains why they postponed the launch date, and also confirms the sept 1 / 9 launch.

No thank you, you can't. But I for one appreciate you asking. It does show initiative.

I can't remember everything that was said in regards to this*, but for the benefit of those who don't want to listen to the show, they will essentially be needing the Lammania server and other tech for the launch. They had to take it down to physically do stuff with it (attach hamsters, etc). And apparently it takes a while to not just move it but to go through the QA process and the like.

* Got back around midnight last night from Indy after a 13 hour drive. Brain still not working...

******, I guessed wrong on this one... so they are gutting the Lama cluster for, interesting choice.

Thats why I said *indirectly*. ;)

Basically from what I understood from Tolero, they decided to use the new hardware supporting lama on the live servers, which needs ~ 2 weeks of preparation. At the time they announced the delay, they were only a few days from the supposed launch date, thus the transfer process would've been impossible to complete, not to mention they also had to announce shutting down the preview server, and organize an event for it.

Ofcourse that's just 1 of the things they are doing between the original launch date and september 1, but it certainly had an impact on the delay.

Which part of "And apparently it takes a while to not just move it but to go through the QA process and the like." and of "Ofcourse that's just 1 of the things they are doing between the original launch date and september 1, but it certainly had an impact on the delay." did you not understand?

It's not only "put[ing] some machines on hand trucks and wheel them around".

It's not only "put[ing] some machines on hand trucks and wheel them around".

Well, yeah...but it's much more fun to just use extreme and ill-informed bombast.

while that is techincally true, it does not represent the case here.

K. Thanks for clarifying. Well, not technically "clarifying" but....huh?

I stopped believing ddocasts/podcasts what-have-you when they said the mod would be out by january 2008 (per Kate). I bet it is either delayed again or immediately followed by a downtime for something the LOTS of extra time wasn't used for, or to patch LOTS of exploits/bugs that are found quite quickly.

OK, let's go through this again............The ONLY announced date for mod 9/EU was Aug. 4th (Besides Sept. 1st/ 9th, of course). Before this, All they ever said was "We hope to" or "We're shooting for" and the like.

We clear?

Good.

What are you talking about? This is completely innaccurate.

So if I say that DDO: U is being released on September 1st, am I dooming everyone? :)

Just to be clear....*insert high-priced lawyer here*:

"The opinions expressed by DDOcast hosts, guests and imaginary characters do not represent statements made by Turbine and should not be construed as such. Any statements made by Turbine representatives on the fan-created and unaffiliated podcast should be seen as coming from said company representatives and not from DDOcast and it's infinitely knowledgable and never-ever-wrong show hosts, guests, co-hosts and contributers."

That said, one thing about audio is that it doesn't include video. If you were there (Gen Con 08) when Kate said that she hoped that Mod 9 would be out by the end of the year, you would have seen a stunned look on my face, followed by a slight smirk and a nod indicating "sure it will...."

Why would you address this to Tolero, Patience, and the Cube? They are Community Relations people. They dont make Release decisions.

I imagine he addressed the above because they are the eyes and ears when pretaining to passsing messages using the forums. Just like you said, they are Community Relations people. The OP is part of the community.

I thought I was going to come in and read "we're out of patience at this point" in relation to the "new" customer service announcement :D

If I were Terrant I would feel mega under appreciated, he isn't even worth enough in the eyes of the OP to warrant a mention in the title of the thread. In short apparently every Mod matters except Terrant.

It is okay Terrant I still love you.... err you know "love" in a completely heterosexual way.

The simply fact that you thought of him means that he's overappreciated. He abuses his moderation power (see sig) and makes the truth wrong (see sig). It's best to ignore such a being. Maybe if we do so for long enough, he'll stop bothering us so much.

Well, at least you didn't spell his name right so he may not realize you were talking about him. ;)

Written as intended ;)

EDIT: Saying his made more then three times in a thread while standing in the dark in front of a mirror is a sure fire way to get him to pay you a visit, and it is never a good visit.
