hoping that perhaps turbine will give us a hint about what they are looking towards in the future lvl20 isnt goin to keep ppl happy for all to long as it has been delayed so long. i dont want to hear what ppl want for after lvl20 theres plenty of posts on that subject already but how about turbine shows us that they are planning something for the future and that this release isnt just a money maker to see the game thru to its death. i dont want specifics or confirmation about anything just give us all a hint or 2 would b great to look in the future and b able to say well hopefully they are working on whatever turbine hints at. to me the f2p lloks like its just a way to rake in some fast cash with its shop with nothing else in the future bar some more capstones and prestige which shouldve came out with this release.

depending on how well you take the woman's word for it, Kate Paiz did say something about epic levels in that useless interview she had with massively (I think it was). Who knows how much of that was pre-constructed answers and how much was a hopeful truth though..

Well for the future
1) See if ftp is profitable>if yes stay open> if no close
2) Create the high level missing content mods 10-11
3) Add another race and maybe a class or 2 mod 12
4) If still profitable think about rasing cap again (should be about 2012 by then)

Extremely unlikely, though as mentioned above epic levels were discussed at one point. But so were a gazillion other things that never happened.

So it would be safe to assume level 20 is it unless F2P gets a gazillion dollars, and maybe not even then.

Yeah I would assume level 20 is it for a long while... which is fine with me... I'd like to see them expand out the end-game... I'd like to see 4-5 different end-game areas with 4-5 very different end-game raids with 8-10 different monster types to fight.

Epic levels (20+) is very unlikely anytime soon..... Unless you do the Turbine soon, which seems to be 1 1/2-2 years :D

From the last couple interviews I have read it sounds like they are going to push content and Character customization (i.e. quests, PREs, capstones, etc…) for now and then hold out to see what the new masses are yearning for. I don’t think they are going to make a major development investment until they get a good feel for where the new player base wants the game to go.

haha beyond level twenty ahahahahah whew wait...ahahahahaha oh man my sides whew *wipes eyes*

Seriously if they get us to level 20 id be happy. Just getting to that level without being on a preview beta whatever you want to call it server would be nice.

Then maybe add a little extra things to do inside the game Ie time sinks. Then if the game survives this new model then maybe look into epic levels with quests and adventures that normal levels cant even think to venture into would be cool.

But considering were still not at 20 I wouldnt even bother thinking about beyond that. Then again im a cynic :)

So am I, and that leads me to believe that they will open epic levels before new content. It's a hell of a lot easier to just make a level cap and let us grind out the same, "new" stuff until level 24. It's cheaper then creating a ton of content and people will still play just to reach end game even if it is the same X number of quests.

It may however kill the game to do so since VIPS will turn to F2P instead of paying monthly and then DDO goes broke. One can dream :D

Back before F2P and even speculations about microtransactions started... even before VM, devs on the DDO cast stated some ideas they had. The only one that stood out in my head were actual PrCs to continue into, not the enhancements we currently have.

I'm sure we'll see some kind of progress beyond 20. When we see it is open to speculation. My most optimistic guess would be one December of 2010. Time for them to gauge the profitability of the Store, and then to begin production on... whatever they decide to do.

I'm just praying that if they try to do something new that they don't screw it up. As a DM I'm all for house-rules, but most of Turbine's house-rules have done little but get them into trouble down the line.
