Does anyone know if Turbine is going to this summit this week? Turbine is a client of the Ayzenberg Group.

Hmmm, all those advertising executives, all in one place.

All at the same time....

My offer is ten thousand plat per head*.

* physical heads are not needed to claim prize, death certificates must be produced, monies will not be paid out on initial typically inaccurate newspaper reports of carnage.

:D

Ummm..OK. I understand then that you don't have an answer to the question.

Fer sure. What a scam! I bet some employee lost his-her job because of "budget cuts" so some slimy exec could attend this. I'm sure it's an interesting get-together, and good for the local "women of the evening" economy. I'm also sure that there's no reason whatsoever for Turbine to say whether anyone would be attending this private, invitation-only meetup. Why even ask? What are you getting at? In what way could this impact the player base whatsoever?

I bet Turbine is hosting a booth here for DDO:U. They'll be explaining to Apple execs why Free to Play gives you less character slots but is a great way to experience the content....

If Turbine is here and not at GenCon, my brain will explode.

LOL - the first time I've given +rep for a thread derailment, it was just soooo funny, and reminded me of the old TISM song with the lines:

"The rich kid becomes a junkie
The poor kid an advertiser
What a tragic waste of potential
Being a junkie's not so good either"

(the song is "Greg! The Stop Sign" by TISM, there's a bunch of jokes that you may not get if you didn't grow up in Melbourne, Australia, but it's well worth a look if it's on Youtube anyway)

I am asking for two main reasons. The first being that back in June Tolero asked the forums about suggested banner adds and to date I have not seen this occur online. So my first questions is what happened as a result of Tolero's post?

http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=184282

The second question being that both Turbine and Atari are clients of this company so does this mean the Ayzenberg Group are the ones marketing DDO and if so what would they be telling Turbine or Atari to do in terms of marketing and advertising?

http://www.ayzenberg.com/

I may have been mistaken but I was of the impression some of the forum player base had a question of how DDO was being advertised and marketed and was trying to find out more about how Turbine approaches that aspect of their business.

I sure hope they don't base their advertising on executive perk-cations like this. Or maybe they already did....

Here's the system in a nutshell:

1. Send the exec on an all-expense paid vacation and call it a retreat/conference/forum.
2. Have fun! Spend Money!
3. Profit.

3a. Oh, and tell someone how much you learned about advertising. Proceed as before.

To answer your question though, I have heard but not seen that there are some DDO banners out there. I would expect to see more ads after a "soft" launch on Sept. 1st/9th.

Huh, all this time I thought it was:

1) Collect underpants.
2) ???
3) Profit.
