I have a few questions to the Devs and any other higher up. Was the Aug 6th Beta test successful or another failure?
If it was a failure, are we still on schedule for a Sept 01 release or will we have to wait another month?
Keeping the player base informed on this would go a loooooonnnggg way in showing us some respect! The last thing anyone wants to get excited to have the rug pulled from underneath us again!

I'm all for more communication, but I don't think you'll get a direct answer to either of those questions.

Was the 8/6 Stress Test a failure? Obviously, and that is why they pushed back the launch. They won't come right out and say so - but that is pretty much what they've already communicated to us. They said that the test showed that they were not ready to handle the server-load they received and needed more time to prepare. I guess one could spin it as a success, since it was a **** good thing they knew prior to launch... but they should have known that anyways.

Is the Sept. launch date still on course - they won't say if it is or it isn't. They'll say, "of course it's on track, no worries!" right up to another delay, if there is to be another delay. To do otherwise would be tantamount to them throwing gasoline on an already volatile situation here on the forums.

Here's to hoping you get an honest answer out of the Devs. It'd be a nice change of pace - but I wouldn't hope for it too hard.

The car started, it was a success.
The car kept running, it was a success.
The car only got up to 20 mph (down hill), not quite as successful as we hoped for but we'll do better. Give us another month or two. . .

From what I've read on the forums, there were alot of problems! Thats what scares me!

I assume it is more like the lag on the current live servers? car starts.. gets going.. then parts start rattling off.. coughs smoke out.. windshield gets bugs all over it.. wipers don't work.. cannot see cannot see.. oh .. Ok.. Pit fiend is dead... we must have run him over.

Just look at the Dev Tracker (even though it barely works). Ever since they announced the postponement, nobody from Turbine has really posted much, anywhere. I wonder why....

I think, technically, the beta was a success...a lotta stuff got tried, and a lotta dev misconceptions got ironed out. It's the development time for mod 9 as a whole and the beta fixes in particular that's getting me down.
