Look, I was as highly agitated as the next guy when I heard the news that mod 9 was delayed.
I said , screw those ddo guys , I'm going to go play lotro or perfect world or any number of the other options available...but most of these options are go kill 5 wolf cubs or 10 potted plants and come back to me.

so , i cancelled my account , shifted gear and money around to a bunch of characters and took off...

well, after about 5 hours of being completely bored with LOTRO again ... it's just freaking tedious, run 10 minutes over here , run ten minutes over there, go kill 25 of these things and come back...i logged into ddo and got into a shroud.
in the no rez room the ALL the melee types got debuffed after a minute and were all dead. a monk, rogue ,wizard and 2 clerics manage to beat him down finally. FREAKING EXCITING!


This is why even with the old quests, i've done so many times , the combat, pace, and excitement is just so far superior to the other things i've looked at.


i try to go away , but they keep pulling me back in.

I don't think I can go back to another EQ-model game after DDO. As much as the Mod9 delay sucks, DDO is still the best MMO out there.

I can't agree with you more. I have tried in the past to quit, but I am here. I have tried other MMO's (lvl 48 in MxO <R.I.P.>, lvl 47 in WoW, lvl 29 in LoTRO, lvl 11 in Conan) and they all bored me. DDO is original, creative, distinct, and my one true love. Turbine can dissapoint me, but something about me loves them enough to keep coming back even after they give me a black eye.

So fight on, DDO Players, and keep telling the doctors you fell down the stairs. I know I will (until they shut down the servers some time in the future).

I feel your pain I to have tried to quit and move on to another game twice. The reality is they all suck compared to DDO. The only MMO that seems interesting on the horizon is Star Wars. But who knows.
