Hey Gang, Shaamis here.
<pops the cap on his everfull mug>
<GULP>
There I was, in the Portable hole, trying to keep the bar from floating up, when I heard light footsteps. The scent of Lavender and Vanilla enticed my senses, causing my head to rise, to seek the source.
Expecting to see a member of the 12, but to my surprise, standing right next to me, was Tolero.
With a wispy, yet stern voice she said to the tavernkeep: "...please good sir, may I have..."
"Give her a Ghallandra Distillate, and whatever else she wants, put it on my tab!" I boomed.
Jumping a little as I startled her, she turned to me. "Why thank you Shaamis! It's been a while since I've seen you! How did you get here, you can teleport?"
"Nah, I jumped here", Shaamis said, as he tilted his Everfull mug to the sky, draining the last drop.
"How have you been?" Tolero asked.
"Meh", I mumbled. "Been here, there, doing whatever I can." Tolero nodded, and I continued. "How have you been doing? Things have gotten pretty rough for you lately"
Tolero accepted the Golden Goblet from the tavernkeep, and with both hands, took a sip, "MMMmmm that hit the spot Shaamis, thank you." She sat down at the bar, and looked at Shaamis, "it has been pretty rough, with things not going as planned, and SO many people depending on us, don't they know that we want them happy too!?!"
Shammis, opening the lid on his mug seeing it was full again, took another large drink, and wiped the froth off his beard, ".....Well lassie, I know you are not the whole company, not the whole problem, and not the whole solution. I know YOU are doing the best you can, and you only can control yourself."
Tolero began to relax, as she took another sip of her Distillate, "But even you have been harsh with us in the past! how can I take your kind words to heart? We only have limited resources, limited personnel, and everyone thinks we can just TAKE resources from our other games we run to make magic in this one! Don't they know it's not that simple?", she says with a gasp.
Shaamis looked right into her eyes, "As long as you let us know you are doing your best, and you periodically take a look through our eyes, and give us an answer we can accept, we will be here." Shaamis paused to take another large gulp from his Everfull Mug. "I remember when your only choice was to look at this from our side of the looking glass, is there THAT much going on, that you can't tell us?"
Tolero looked into the goblet she has been sipping from, the magical elixer, already rejuvenating her, seemed impossible smooth, and perfect. She mumbled, "there is a lot......that I can't tell outright, for reasons I can't tell you....." as her voice trails off.
Shaamis said "That's FINE! You just have to tell us what you can, and can't tell us, and if you CAN, DO! We know you have a job to do, and just like I have to kill Devils the hard way, you have to do your job the hard way too!"
Tolero said, "but the answers I can give are NEVER good enough! I have tried to be as truthful as possible, even coming up with games to keep everyone happy, and that only works for so long......" she trails off again, "what am I gonna do till September?"
Shaamis drains his everfull mug again, as he speaks, "Just be as truthful as you can, and do everything you can to help things along, whether it's letting us know things are going smoothly, if there are any bumps in the road, or whether you are running over to plug something back in. The biggest problem with the latest news release was the unprecedented way it was announced. We have been told in the past that when we get a release date, it might as well be set in stone, so we kept quiet. Now since that is no longer the rule, there are a lot of people that can't handle the uncertainty, they are lashing out any way they can."
Tolero gets a weird look on her face.
Shaamis says, "What's wrong Lassie?"
Tolero replies, I've seen you drink three full mugs of brew from your Everfull Mug, where are you keeping it?
Shaamis replies, "Drunken-Style Monk Secret"<wink> and continues. "We just have a lot of questions, and since we havent been given answers that make a whole lot of sense, our imaginations have been running wild. You give us answers we can believe in, and we will be here."
Tolero says, "I understand."
Shaamis gives Tolero a big hug, and says, "Good to see you Tolero, remember, Shaamis will always be in your corner, cuz I know YOU are doing your best. Just do your BEST to get everyone else to do THEIR best! I have a picnic with Emili in the Vale, I have to go......."
And with that, Shaamis bows to Tolero, Abundant Steps over to the Teleporter, and disappears.
"That is one CRAZY (or Drunk) Dwarf." Tolero says to tavernkeep, as she throws a few plat in the tipjar.
"Yeah, but he's my only steady customer, and even though he drinks from that **** mug of his all of the time, I still make a good coin from all of the drinks he buys for people. 1200 plat so far this week, 1500 with gratuity."
Tolero: <facepalm>
(Note): This MIGHT not have happened, but it's what Shaamis remembers happened......
If Shaamis said it while he was drunk, it must be true,
