is it just me, or are some of the compendium pages locking up internet explorer?

this page, http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Class:Wizard, is the page for the wizard class that locks up on me. when i try to goto the sorcerer class page it does the same. ive been trying all of last night and this morning to access those pages, and have restarted several times, with no luck. everytime the browser locks up and i have to close it down, while other internet applications and explorer windows continue to run fine. even other compendium pages work ... but i havent checked the other classes.

What version of IE are you using?

I'm on firefox
---
Mozilla/5.0
(Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.12)
Gecko/2009070611
Firefox/3.0.12
(.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
---

and I have bad lag when I load up the class pages.
Mostly wizard and sorcerer.

I think it's just that they're deep and complicated pages.
Lots of information and display going on there.
Is your system/processor weak?

What version of IE are you using?

It loads perfectly fine (a little slow) in firefox 3.0, tried it in IE 7 and it took IE quite a while to fully render the page. Chrome rendered it the fastest though.

I have a Intel core i7 at 2.67ghz and 6GB ram, so plenty of resources available. Probably just due to the size of the content on the page.

I suspect they might be on IE 6 or so. The compendium will lock up and freeze sometimes for me and I am stuck with IE6.0 at work. This is especially true if one tries to enter the compendium using one of the radio buttons on the top of the page. I found that if I enter the Compendium from the link in the list of Forums on the left of the page, that I get in without locking up....hmmmm

ie 7 net clr 3.5 sp1 (and earlier versions) on vista

the internet connection i was on was rather slow, compared to most dsl connections im used to. ive since changed locations and this connection is really quick.

it hasnt locked up on me yet, but ive been trying to load the page for two minutes and all im getting is a little sliver down at the bottom telling me its about 1% compleate. wow ... just poped up all of a sudden. thats a very long load time, imo.

i see now that the tables are huge, and were probably jacking with my other connection.

IE6 we definitely don't support any longer; IE7 has been out for ages, and IE8 is up and walking now.

Overall, the class pages are heavy with tables and JavaScript that manipulate them. This can drag things down at times for those pages; it is something we are aware of. We're working on ways to keep that data but break it up so the page isn't as heavy.

Stay tuned...

IE8 can be a bugger. The whole Compatibility View thing is a pain in the butt. I think Microsoft has its sights set on Java…. Guess that isn’t really new huh… :)

Not sure what the deal is with IE 8, but I've had it crash more then any other version.
It was consistently crashing on a web site that I frequent, so I've been trying Chrome, which has been much better and faster.
