When Unlimited kicks in I want to start a new toon (want to start fresh I guess) I enjoy the cleric class (my 1st toon) but he is kinda stuck at lvl 9 mostly b/c I solo a lot but Like I said I enjoy the class but I really like to get down and dirty and hack things.

Recently a buddy of mine left the game but gave me a cool stash of Dwarf axes! from low to high. So I was thinking I need to be using these suckers!

So I'm looking to crate a Dwarf Cleric slash something that can use these bad ass axes I got sitting in the bank! Maces just don't do it for me in terms of damage. Fighter? Pally? something else?

It would have to be a 28pt as I don't have enough favor yet. I can afford some +1 tomes (my bud also gave me platt)
but +2 tomes are very expensive!

So thanks in advance all ideas are welcome!

Personally I like pure clerics, but if you want to MC...

17 cleric/2 fighter/1 monk

It gives you access to all cleric spells, 3 bonus feats, monk AC bonus, and access to all weapons.

Go Dwarf for the axes, HP/con bonus.

If for some reason you really feel the need to triclass 3 levels, 2Monk/1Fighter is a lot more advantageous. you still get 3 feats, but you also get Evasion.

I'm much rather see a max 2 level splash on clerics still. we dont know what t he PrEs are going to actually do yet, but I bet at least one of em will be a nice melee bonus.

Pure cleric taking the weapon pro of your choice is still my Fav, with a 19Cleric/1Ranger being 2nd.

It means no Armor and no Sheilds. at all.

That's a good point...that's why you're the builder :p

If you don't see too many of a character mix there's a reason.

Umm He has many post about builds and many I see swear by him. I'm thinking he knows what he is talking about and I'm willing to give it a shot.

If you don't see too many of a character mix there's a reason.

Please Elaborate. What might that reason be?

1 ranger gives a LOT to any cleric. Expecially if they like to Melee....

Full martial Weapon Proficiency.
Maintain Spell point pool due to Double L1 Wisdom bonus.
+2 Reflex Save. (Cleric Reflex saves are always poor)
+2(+3) Damage agaisnt a Favorite Enemy
Sprint Boost! Cant get enough!

So, whats not to like? Please.. Let me know.....

Maybe I'm just jaded by all the morons out there taking one level of ranger for their archer specialist clerics.

I don't suppose it's "bad" per se, but I'd prefer just about any other class. Fighter allows for more feats, which in turn makes doing good DPS easier through two weapon fighting. Barbarian provides a constant movement increase, the same sprint boost, and +2 damage to ALL creatures (through power attack enhancement). Monk provides another feat (again with the twf), +2 to ALL saves (instead of just reflex), and is one level away from evasion.

I'd take any of these over the ranger. That's not to say a melee ranger (gawd not another archer cleric) isn't decent enough, but I'd take all of those classes over the ranger.

One, great job on picking a dwarf to be a cleric. I love Dwarfs and Clerics. But anyways a lvl 15 cleric with 1 lvl of pally sounds good. i have a lvl 10/cleric 1/pally buff myself up throw some good armour on, and im ready to battle. i Heal great, raise dead, slay living, blah blah blah, but i can still jump in there and do 20-40 points of dmg. if your wanting to fight remember STR,CON,WIS are your best friends, have int dex and charisma be your dump stats, unless you want to take 12 dex, but thats up to you. Make sure you get all your DA dmg boost and stuff. And dont forget your a cleric. no matter how much you wanna be a good melee fighter, the other "real" melee classes are gonna whoop you in kill count unless your good at throwing around your spells. Also remember your god of the arena, PvP is your playground. But to each man his own.
