I am trying to figure which is better, Sovereign Host or Undying Court. (Assuming an Elf with this option.)

In most cases it would seem a longsword is better for an Elf.

I'm not good at math, but I think DPS is better for longsword when Elf enhancements are included, even with burst weapons. Not sure how to take Divine Sacrifice into the equation though.

Longswords seem much easier to find or buy.

If you want a crit effect, like smiter, you could just switch to scimitar for one fight. Forget about DPS and your chance to roll a crit is just as good as if you had taken Undying Court.

Am I missing something?

I am missing something. Which class are you talking about, or atleast, what kind of abilities and attacks would you be using these weapons with.

Given the reference for Divine Sacrifice I will assume Paladin. If you do not want to take Khopesh, Scimitar (Come DDO:U*) and Rapiers are the next best choices for an Elf Paladin.

* There will be a line for Scimitar/Falchions for Elves instead of taking the Rapier/Longsword ones.

Mainly: That in Mod 9 elves get 2 choices for melee weapon enhancements.
The first is Aerenal Elven enhancements that affect the standard Rapier/Longswords.
The second is Valenar Elven enhancements and they affect Scimitars and Falchions.

Check out THIS THREAD (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=182991) for DPS calcs. Note most of it was written before the scimitar enhancement was announced. So, you can now substitute scimitar for the rapier DPS calcs.

Scimitar or Rapier is better than Longsword.

Valenar Elves can take the Scimitar enhancements.

Hmm, the faster mod 9 Falchions could possibly make elves very dps. [well i think they are now but just another option]

I’ve been told that 40 STR and no fortification is the break point. I don’t plan on rolling up a THF elf barbarian yet but it sounds fun.

IMHO the best part about the addition of these enhancements: Not another rapier or kopesh user.

Agreed.

The break point, for zero fortification, is 35 base damage.
