I'm missing what the barbarian level brings to your build.

May I suggest you change that to ranger so as to get bow strength thus saving you a feat? Substitute ranger sprint boost for barbarian.

Not that I expect you to anwser, but why are you taking STR on this build? Since you dont have Bow Strength it may be better to dump it, unless you plan to melee(just dosent look like it)?, and you dont have the Wisdom for Zen Archery in the future either.

Do you think the bonus to Sprint Boost/ UMD is worth giving up the 25% alacrity from Ranger 20 or 10% from Fighter 20?

Do you think Deepwoods Sniper II and III will be good for the build in the future?

i get +1 crit range with full UMD mark as well as access to focus chant and 10% faster base movement, from the way i play, movement is super important for an archer

don't know much about deepwoods, but this is just something i've been wanting to play around with for a while and it's quite fun =)

PS: you can't get arcane archer as 20 Fighter :p

Movement speed can be had as a Ranger aswell through boosts, most mobs cannot keep up with you hasted running backwards regardless.

You could have ranger sprint boost 7/rest(9/rest with Kensai set, swapable) for a 50% speed increase that stacks with striders aswell!


of course =) haste + haste boost > 25% alacrity :p

I read somewhere that Haste boost dosent work with ranged weapons.

Not best. Str 14, Dex 16 +5 level saves you 1 build point.

I'd put levelup points into Str for Bow Strength?

If you don't mind dropping your will save a bit you could switch force of personality for extend, depending on when you're taking your bard level. And since you have so high an attack bonus you could drop the second elf enhancements to hit for a couple extra dragonmark enhancements. You'd gain 12 minutes of displacement at the mere cost of 6 will save and 1 to hit.

You could put the one extra ap you'd have left over into a second bard song. That'd be 8 minutes of +1 damage, assuming you don't have a full bard in the group.

As an Elf you should be able to pick up Elven Arcane Archer along with Kensai from Fighter. You have Point Blank Shot and Weapon Focus: Ranged already, just pick up the Bard SP enhancement and bingo!

Unless you don't have the AP (I think it would cost 8 AP for Elven Arcane Archer 5)

and if, you dont need AA 5 as you will use a greensteel bow most of the time anyway and they are +5 already...anything higher then the +1 arrows isnt needed as they arent pre for something else (though that might change in the future)

no i won't, i've made the decision to never touch them evil greensteel stuff!

I was wondering when someone would come up with this build. I decided ranger was way to go but kensai + arcane archer + arcane archer gear could be uber.

Nice job. I won't roll one because I prefer melee first archers or wizard gimps but nice job.

Consider more Strength. I would drop intel to 14 and max UMD, Perform, get the +2 1750 tome for more points into balance and jump. This will also give you the ability to use two handers in desperate situations.

If for anyreason bow str doesnt make it into mod 9 you can always fall back on a ranger level.

they're moderately priced, but kensai is costly
not to mention there's a need to keep up the arcane archer enhancements as well

i know, that's why i took bard first
but i was just pointing out that being an elf alone isn't enough to qualify for AA
aka: Elven Pure Fighter can't achieve AA

Yes, even an Elven pure Fighter can be an Arcane Archer, just replace SP Enhancement with Mental Toughness feat. I have a Ranger Cleric Elven Arcane Archer and that's how I did it.

after seeing the past life feat for Ranger, I thought I'd try to see what it'd be like if i true reincarnated 3 times for the 3 ranger past life and the extra build points and ended up with something quite fun-looking (for me anyway)

-base + 29 damage pre-buffage

gotta say, if only the reincarnation isn't so much of a grind, I'd actually roll a ranger for this purpose :p:p:p:p:p
