I lol'd.

Shouldn't this build be a finesse build, though? I thought Narukami was rather, well, finesse-y. For lack of a better word.

BTW. +1 rep.

I thought about finesse...but then figured I could get to a 28 str... and say screw the AC since he wont have much wisdom anyway... I am just planning on some nice guard items...like a lightning II guard or two :D

Well.. according to the wiki Raiden.. is also known by his real name.. Raijin... who is also called Narukami The Thunder God... who apparently like to sneak into childrens rooms at night and steal their belly buttons...so I figured he would need to be strong to do that...

They must be busy “looting the Vale” again.

And for a semi serious point this is a great example as to why this game could use the practiced spellcaster feat. It’s really hard to get a great gish caster build going on in DDO.

lol, nice man, this is one of my favs
so if this is raiden (lightning) then where are samson (thunder i thought) and the sword guy (rain) (cant remember his name)?

great scene - wang vs rain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4BvCC28SaU)

"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: 'Have ya paid your dues, Jack?' 'Yessir, the check is in the mail.'

Anybody who steals belly buttons is cool in my book :)

Looks like a fun build, though!

Yep Big Trouble In Little China came first, and Raiden was actually inspired by Lightning in the movie.

Hes interesting so far 3rd level... once I get lightning bolt things will be picking up...

As much as that is one of my all time favorite movies, and one of the best quotes from it, I hope you didnt do that from memory... :D

Heh yep... He was supposed to be bright red too...

So if you see a Drow running around who looks like a chinese farmer with a little too much paprika sprinked on him...

I have a bunch of conventional builds I'm bringing up at the moment, so I really have no time for an out of the ordinary one right now much to my chagrin. :(

Ok so I hit 5th level last night...

1 sorc 4 monk....

He is certianly interesting... Doesn't do too bad as far as kicking things butts... and people laugh to see a monk throwing magic missles and using shocking grasp.

Time to take a few sorc levels and get some interesting damage spells.

Do the Sorceror Energy Manipulation enhancements increase the damage of your monk lightning/wind based attacks and finishers? Similar to how a Clerics life magic affects the healing finishers?

Deep_Sashelas

Don't forget that Raiden, also known as Raijin, is a god of thunder and lightning in Japanese mythology.

I'm pretty sure that predates Big Trouble in Little China by a few years.

Good call.. I will have to check the finishers... Will update when I do...

As for the regular hits I haven't noticed a change...but I will double check this evening.

Doesnt have a problem landing blows at level appropriate quests, does ok damage...nothing spectacular yet.

Spells are MM Flaming Charm and Shield, wont start to get the shocking stuff till later.

The extended shield is sooo useful.

Running around at a 30 Ac with house p buffs.

Yep.. getting there... there just aren't many other spells I can take yet...

Scored a set of +2 shocking burst 5% weighted handwraps for him and some greater potency rings...

Still need a few more for other levels... but thats gonna be a while.

And now Its being switched from flaming hands to shocking grasp...

I still think I will keep magic missles around tho...(maybe)
