There was discussion previously about vets being short changed when EU rolls out.

Most of this discussion centered around vets not getting retrospective TP for favor already earned and the inadequacy of a res cake as compensation for the extended delay in release.

I was wondering if an increase in the monthly stipend of TPs for long term subscribers could alleviate the issue?

When EU goes live all subscribers get 500 TP / month.

What if subscribers got a stipend of 500 + (X * month subscribed since DDO launch) / month?

ie if a Founder (Feb 2006), paid every month since launch (41 months) and increase is 2.5 TP / month subscribed.
Monthly stipend would be 602 TP / month (500 + (41 * 2.5) == 602 TP*)

As a subscribed player, I'm for it... but I don't see what compelling reason Turbine has to give it.

There's basically three kinds of players (after mod 9 is released):
1)f2p [which I'm lumping "former vip" or whatever they call it into as well]
2)VIP who will spend more than their 500 stipend per month
3)VIP who will not (normally) spend their 500 tp.

If Turbine gives people more TP based on service, they lose cash from players in categoty 2; category 3 is unaffected (though might spend a little more of their free points), and the upside potential is that f2p players might have higher incentive to subscribe. If they don't provide this bonus, will Turbine retain more subscribers? I would think not (but what do I know).

So the only real benefit to Turbine is if additional bonus points justify f2p players to change to subscription... and at that, most of those players will not have enough bonus (beyond 500) to be able to say "well, at 500 I won't do it, but at 600, now we're talkin!)

I entered this thread thinking I could wipe myself clean.

Sadly, I am still unsatisfied. I recommend modifier be quarterly (3 months per X multiplier times 50). Ergo, if you've been susbscribed for 3 years non-stop, that's 12 X 50 = 600 additional TP. Whereas, if you've been subscribed for 6 months that's 2 X = 100 additional TP. Either way, every 3 months you get a little more cushion for the pushing.

No more TP for my subscribed moneyhole? :o
