What rules would a player, static group or guild have to follow to reflect the PnP rules to the extent possible?

I was toying with having some sting of death clause losing money/item ( this is not a PD group ) but ended up not pursuing it - instead opting for a slower paced group where at least the goal is we shouldn't die!

Its more or less impossible, everyone is going to disagree on mechanics, everyone will have their own preferences, whats missing from DDO cant be replaced by re rolling when you die, and thats roleplaying, DDO just doesnt support it in any meaningful way, quests barely have any plot, interaction, and certainly little overarching theme or story line to them, and as in all Prefabricated unchanging 'rollercoaster' MMOs, the players have no way to forge their own adventures,
in short if you want a real PnP experience, skip DDO, its still good for dungeon crawling, but for role playing it is the poorest choice, even the NWN games flawed as they are come out slightly more ontop.

Depends.

Quick ones would be:

Revenue sharing. Most PnP groups share money equally.
Quest..er Adventure as a group
Stay in character as much as possible
Multiclass restrictions per the PnP

DDO does not have the choices and dynamics that pnp has. There are elements that you would see in a pnp adventure but nothing like a live pnp game. One example, if you lose your weapon in DDO because of damage or whatever, you are forced to use your fists. In pnp, I used a wagon wheel to kill some kobolds or something. Multi-class in pnp is a little easier and more handy to the party than DDO too. I have had some pnp builds that would blow up single classed characters. Not even some of the well known DnD characters are singles class such as Drizzt, Elminster, The Lich Red Wizard of Thay, and the list goes on.

Check out PD halls of Valhalla Guild rules they are meant to mimic pen and paper(although nothing ccan be perfect in an MMO world).
