Can someone plz give me a down and dirty of diplomacy; i.e. skill investment cap and if possible comment on lvl 20 cap also.

I'm rerolling my sniper ranger w/ the 32 point build that i finally unlocked and in my experience that a few lucky crits in an elite dungeon in the beginning = a very dead ranger on my end. I tend to hold back quite a bit for that reason. Was thinking about picking up diplomacy and investing points into it for the purpose of an aggro drop when the crisis arises. Tried searching round for a guide or faq and not coming up w/ much.

Thks in advance for any helpful insight.

My rogue does fine with diplomacy in the 30s. Your problem though sounds more like the lack of heavy fortification (which prevents all crits and sneak attacks).

True heavy fortification would get rid of that extra dmg, but I'm looking for an aggro dump when needed. From what the tool tip says it sounds like Diplomacy does that. It will prevent the whole ring round the rosie effect that I tend to do when I got aggro on some big heavy hitter mobs. I wonder if maxing it out as a cross-skill if it would be overkill w/ invested points.

Yes, diplomacy does exactly what you think it does.

It turns the mob to find another target.
However if you have hit them hard enough they will come back to you in about 6-10 secs
if someone else doesnt manage to grab their attention.

Diplomacy does NOT work when you are soloing.

EDIT: Diplomacy also makes better loot drop in chests and works on end reward NPC's*

*disclaimer: noone will verify this but it has been tested and does show an improvement for those that use it..LOL :D
