Are there any speed records that will not be owed by Sarlona?

Sure its possible, after all we had people with 28 pts builds on this run, GASP!!!! People without P/A dbl GASP! And a Necro Focused low SP CLeric, triple GASP!
ANd Dether only has ONE CHaracter.

Maybe we could charge PUGS 25 Mana pots to hang and raid with us for one day:) (Totally kidding on this/reference to another thread on the forums)

very nice all. If ya ever go for a elite speed run let me know....I'll bring my cleric if ya have a spot. I think it's pretty cool Sarlona is home to the spped runs so far. All owned by Caffiene...you guys play the game like a high school kid in the backseat of a car....LOL :)

I ran with Caffiene on a speed shroud run last night. You guys are very enjoyable and efficient to play with. I really enjoy the pace of gameplay. Very positive experience!

Think of this as foreplay, can't always start with the hottest action first, gotta work your way up to it, or we'd have no place to go when done:)

Am I reading the kills right? It looks like you completed with 43 kills. I've never seen the last wave of orthons appear at fewer than 48 (which would give you a final kill count of 55: 48 + 6 Orthons + Suulo) so I'm wondering if doing it fast reduces the spawn or something like that.

If going faster (I'm assuming you DPS'd suulo the entire time) means fewer spawns, then that may be the better way to run it!

Not fewer spawns, just choices of what not to kill immediately. 8 Min run had 45 kills.

Ah, interesting. I always assumed it was the total kill count that triggered Suulo to come off his perch. It's only certain mobs?

Its a combo of things at different times during the raid- Health Bar, time and certain kills.

Last several times I've run this we take the last set of Orthons to the other side and I just keep them intimidated their while everyone else finishes off Suulo. I don't really see any bat damage and I can hold the buggers till the lag-dead folk get rezzed up and all.

Actually, last time I ran this I ended up having 4 Orthons and 3-4 Devils all intimdated on the other side... not sure how I grabbed that much lol... but we probably had around 43ish kills at completion.

Also, I haven't paid attention but on normal I think we tend to hover around 7 minute completions... I just never looked. But my own buffs on Valtana only last 12 minutes and I tend to have 3-5 minutes left on them after the run.

Very cool indeed. What do you do for the other 3-8 minutes? I'm not saying you didn't do a good job, you did. Really.

I think we do it like this just to challenge ourselves.. not really to save time, but I'm sure you knew that already ;). Same thing with Shroud. It takes a bit of time to put a group together capable of doing ~15 minute runs, so its usually quicker to just grab a random group and shoot for 25 to 30 minutes. I do find record attempt runs more fun though, gives you something to strive for.
