Tharne's Goggles Saga - Epilogue

So my many-week obsession with obtaining Tharne's Goggles ended on Friday when I got them as a reward for my 20th run. WHEEEEE! I couldn't be happier and my enjoyment of the game and satisfaction with Dresek is at an all time high.

So last night my guild wants to run a VoD. Sure, I'll join! Hey, Suulomades, I've got your goggles and I'm comin' back to show 'em to ya!!! I find out that one of my guildmates, another rogue, is running his first VoD. I take him under my wing, ya know, one rogue to another.

"Come with me, lad, let me teach you all about Vision of Destruction. It's a great raid and there's some good roguing to do here." While solving the approach puzzle, some folks fell off and died on the lower level. No problem, I'll just stealth down, grab your stones, and bring you back to the shrine. Rogue FTW!

"Come with me, young rogue, let me show you how to stealth to the lever. *Click* all done here, let's head to the quest."

So we head in and have an incredibly smooth, textbook VoD run. Get used to it, young rogue, as you're going to have to run a LOT of VoD's to get a pair of these beautiful goggles...uh...what's that you just pulled?

I have a similar story... ran VoD 20 times to get the goggles in my end reward, and the next run someone got them on their very first run.

The only difference is that the lucky bass terd was one of my alts :D

Similar experience in the Titan. first 17 runs, never saw the chattering ring, not for me or anyone else. On the 17th I win it in a PUG when someone else pulls it and puts it up for sale. Of course, on my 18th run and 19th runs, there's another one in the chest, mocking me.

We'll see on my 20th but I am expecting every end reward to be the chattering ring, with no gloves or belt to be found on the list...

Across my first 3 characters that have 1 or more levels of Rogue for trap skills (Ro 13 / F3, Ranger 15 / Ro 1, and Ranger 12 / F2 / Ro 2), they all pulled the goggles in a total of just 5 runs.

Now I'm sure my 4th (Bard 12 / Ro 2 / Barb 2 just recently leveled) is gonna get the shaft and not get them until his 20th because I mentioned it and just jinxed myself. :) But I cant' help mentioning my luck with this one item so far as I'm generally not loot-lucky.
