Play a Cleric.
With your 28 Point it´s optimal and you can go with all groups w/o probs. and as well you need no 32 Points for a cleric to run him well.
Just my 2 cent´s

Ranger, Tempest. Not phew phew. Hard hitting melee that can from time to time do some sniping.
Go Dwarf or Warforged.
Why? Hits hard in melee (Tempest is balanced/strength based Ranger), can do sniping just fine, can self buff (some really nice buffs) and self heal (at lvl1 wands, can even cast cure at higher levels).
One of best classes for solo and group friendly as any other.

Honestly, you don't need 32 points for any class to be fun, the +4 points gives you +1 to a primary stat and unless you are making a build where you make use of that +1 and some tomes you arn't loosing out on a whole lot.
Clerics are fun, you'll always have a spot in a group. However you will also have to learn to deal with lots of verbal abuse from the people that expect you to be able to heal stupid. And pugs can be VERY scary...
Monks are alot of fun, my main is a 28pt monk that I've had a blast playing on. Unfortunitly since it seems like end game dps for monks hold still while everyone else shoots past them, I've found Monks to have as much trouble finding groups sometimes of rangers of old. Still lots of fun none the less :)
I have a level 6 acrobat rogue (who is keeping up with his rogue skills), and he's been a blast to play too. Since he's only level 6 I can't give too much feedback on it though
With the upcoming Arcane Archer PrE, and Mockducks mini review on the latest DDO cast, I would think a Arcane Archer would be quiet fun to play, though I myself hate grouping with pew pew rangers... they seem to always like pulling agro and then kite it away from the group of melee who are wonder w.t.f. he's doing.

I don't think anyone will be able to tell you what will be fun for you
If you are new, the best idea is for EVERY class, look at the recommended stats, MAX them, then go through the into quest and see what is fun, pick the two favorites, say what you like about them, and ask if you can put those things togther
For melee classes, try them 2 handed and 2 weapons, for monk try it unarmed and dual wielding or with a staff
For casters, try using every spell, see which ones you like (don't worry if you die, focus on the rest of the time, casters are very squishy at start)
For healers and tanks you will need to invest a little more time and try grouping the quests in town, although if you are new, you should probably stick to dps
I would recommend doing all the town quests with groups with the ones you like
The intro (and town quests) don't take long, but will give you an easy impression of how a class feels
