Hey everyone, i'm new to multi-classing but have an idea of what i want... I want to make a TWF Dwarf- Ranger 14/ Fighter 2 for a 32 pt build...could really use a layout of what to do with my stats, skills, enhancements, and when i should splash the levels of fighter in.

bumping this for some help please :)
What goal do you have for the build? What specificially are you looking for out of the 2F levels, and how attached are you to that versus other multiclass options? Monk and Rogue are other common splashes for 18/1/1 or 18/2 builds.
Really even though it's not dwarf, you should read the "exploiter" build just to see what some clever Ranger multiclassing can really accomplish. There's a lot to gain beyond just 2 Fighter feats and a STR point enhancement.

Otherwise, you may find this link to a Dwarf STR-based pure ranger interesting too. You could use those stats and general approach but add your fighter levels for extra feats you feel you need them.

But really without expressing what you want out of your build -- max AC? Intimidate? max DPS? -- it's hard to steer you toward any one build.

my advice go to sigtrents thread " request a build" and look for one called blind skwerl. sounds funny but i based my ranger off this and he rocks. did change him to a tempest but otherwise its a great starter for a build.

Need input for the rest

Hehe better yet, here's the version I came up with: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=117624
There is also a link to Sig's version. Respec'd for tempest and kicking a$$!!!

I don't see much wrong with the one Blind Skwerl linked other than STAT preferences.
Dwarf TWF Ranger 14/ Fighter 2 (32 pt build)
STR 16 (need input for where my lvl stats should go)
DEX 16
CON MAX
Start 18 STR and your level-ups all go there. Maybe 17 if you're really feeling stat pt constrained. Don't get too carried away with CON, 16 is plenty. And remember you don't need 17 DEX for your 2WF as a ranger and since you're not a high-AC build you don't actually need a ton of starting DEX. even 14 is probably fine given you can use class enhancements.
Enhancements:
1st. Dodge
2nd. Mobility
3rd. Spring Attack
Need input for the rest
You meant feats I think... Toughness and Power Attack are pretty mandatory. Beyond that and the 3 tempest prereqs it's largely personal preference.
And when should i splash in my 2 lvls of fighter?
Again if you didn't have a long list of feats you were dying to take and couldn't squeeze them in with the 6 regular feats granted by level 15 then why exactly do you feel the need for 2 Fighter levels? There aren't a lot of level 1-2 Fighter enhancements that add much for you. And it slows down getting to each of several cool breakpoints. Really consider carefully if you need it at all. Sure you can still hit Tempest III at 20th so aren't really losing anything given the one known capstone at this point, but it's taking longer to get your barkskin, evasion, 30 pt resists, etc along the way.
I say that having a Dw STR-based ranger myself that's 12 Ranger / 2 rogue / 2F. My feats are:
for tempest: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack
other: power attack, toughness, improved crit: slash, weapon focus: slash and oversized 2wf
While they help your to hit numbers leveling, by 16th I don't think wf: slash or O2WF are really needed. PA, Toughness and IC: slash are critical though. And can be had without the 2 Fighter levels, which in hindsight I'd now have dropped from my own build.
Up to you though, at present 18/2 builds seem pretty solid. Keep in mind though that even though DPS rangers are dismissive of the ranged capstone, a future capstone more melee-based may make some folks regret not going pure on their DPS tempest builds. As for when, any level other than first so you don't limit your skill pts. You could take them at 2-3 and be all ranger from there. Or you could go ranger 1-6 to speed tempest, F for 7-8 and Ranger out. Some builds it matters for feat timing but it doesn't matter much on yours.
Good luck

Max that strength and use all level ups there.
If I was to re-roll Tourbillon, I'd make him with 8 wisdom. With equipment he will be fine for casting barkskin and such. Get that dex and con up.
Take the first fighter level at 8 to get improved critical: slashing.
Although oversized two weapon fighting isn't a huge perk to have with this guy, it does fill one of the requirements for tempest III.
