2 quick questions

First was running around Meridia and all those folks with titles finally talked to me. Seems I've got to collect a few things. Anyone have any info on these collectibles: healing totems (assume the gnolls in part 4 drop them) and what you get for them, broken sword shards (assume from the blades in part 3 but how in gods name do you get these never seen them) and what they do, and then some kind of tailsmen?

Also I am leveling up a ranger (first time) and was wondering what others choose as their favored enemies and it what order?

I have no idea what you are asking about in your first question are you asking about green steel items maybe? The ingredients you need to make green steel are in meridia quests. Once you get them you can create a greensteel blank item then add powers to that item in the shroud raid with ingredients only found in the raid.

Or maybe you are asking about collectibles that drop on enemies corpses these can be turned in for lame stuff. Planar shards drop underneath market place they are somewhat cool. And in the shroud quest itself enemies drop junk that is not useful for anything as well.

As for ranger if you have the money or time to get dragonshards to respec your favored enemies at will, I'd start with reptile level 1, then giant at 5 drop reptile take undead, at 10 get abberation, at 13 drop abberation for evil outsider, then at 15 get abberation once agian. So you end up with giant, abberation, evil outsider, undead. But thats just what id do if I wasnt capping in a week, totally up to you .

Hmm not a bad so far took undead then giants. This is kinda what I was going for as well. My only thoughts were about monstrous humanoids: would that get orcs, orgres, trolls, hobgoblins and gnolls or just some of them?

Yes I was talking about the shroud collectibles not the greensteel ingredients.

This is one of two questions that I have asked and never felt any closer to an answer. I think it would be a safe suggestion to increase the drop rate of these items in the shroud to generate some concern or excitement about this. Currently a lot of people in the game don't know or have forgoten all about the collectibles there.


Portal Fragments 100 needed <----see them drop
Healing Totem 100 needed <----see them drop
Infernal Pacts 100 needed <---- never seen
Bladestorm Fragments 100 needed<---- never seen

If I'm not mistaken you can only collect if you kill the portal or healer in part 4, and it drops,


The other question was about the blue barrier on top of the boxes in Korthos /Redemption quest.

Orcs are orcs
Trolls are giants
Hobgoblins are goblinoid
Gnolls are gnolls

Monstrous humanoids are minotaurs, gargoyles, the wildmen in Titan and Shrieking Mines.

Yeah ive never heard an answer to either of these, and I havent collected enough of these for a turn in to see what you get :(

the collectibles I heard of a fella that got 100 protal fragments and turn them in got something like 30000 exp.

sad thing is I know I havent run its as much as I should.. but in 2 years.. I only got like 50 some fragments.

and yeah two of them are broken quests... ie blades....

and also the useless devil beards and orthon nail plating we cant pick up. let alone turn in.
