Hi all,

I played from release until just after MOD3. I am thinking of coming back (on a free trial right now) and have some questions.

1) I deleted my characters before I left, will I still be able to make a Drow on whatever server mine was merged with?

2) How is the community now compared to 3 years ago (for those that were playing back then)?

3) Obviously there is more content now (one of the reasons I left), but is it as fun as it was upon launch?

4) Are there any drastic changes (besides crafting, hirelings, and 12+ level stuff) to the overall game play? Is it still the same old teamwork thing?

Any other tidbits you wanna throw in to help an old-timer decide to play or not would be appreciated. Thank you.

If Drow was unlocked before you deleted them, yes.

Each quest is new only once.
But many frustrating mechanics have been removed. No more velahs wing buffet and you are out of the raid, with no fault of yours. Or tempest Spine“s endboss whirling away and then wipe the other half of the party. the new raids have no "pure bad luck" chances" to wipe.

Still teamwork.
the biggest change is the new ehancement system, which is great and the reason i returned when it was implemented.

I was in DDO before the initial release but I quit logging in late 2006 due to insufficient content and let my account laps months later. I re-upped my account last week and I love the changes done to the game. I will try to pace myself so I don't run out of content this time around. I love the enhancement system and look fowards to goofing around with a hirling if they aren't too buggy. DDO made a lot of common sense enhancements to the game - which is a nice change. Playing other games, I found many developers get too close to the game mechanics and start making changes that kill immersion - some really ******** changes - which is what prompted me to give DDO another try. So glad I did.
