I realize that V (the elf) is not a rogue, nor Hiding in Shadows, but **** if I don't feel his/her pain!
From the best D&D based webcomic drawn by a guy named Rich:
Order of the Stick #656 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0656.html)
Highly recommended reading for D&D fans of all ages!

Wahaha...I caught that this morning. It was classic, and yet I cant understand how opening a door makes you become noticed? I can understand an attack but not opening a door.

Umm I think someone would notice a door opening itself....
I really enjoy OTS

Only to become curious and investigate and not immediately identify why the door opened.

Except in this case.
If I was fighting a mystical battle with an Elf (LOL) and I got distracted I might miss that he went invisible.
BUT....
If as soon as I said "where'd that Elf go" and that door swung open all of a sudden, that's exactly where I would toss my lightningbolt/fireball.
Especially since I'm Eeeeevil ;).
I wouldn't care that I might crisp one of my evil minions by accident.
Lot's more I can hire at the Local Lair.:)
