Just listened to Alex's rant about monks which is not unjustified, but I think he is wrong about the rings. Although they can be used by any class, they only apply to unarmed combat, which no other class is going to use regardless of the effects on the rings, so they will give an essentially "monk only" boost to DPS. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they are actually significant.

I need to pay attention to what server you play..;)

This comes from June 2008, but it's still probably a good way to hear from Turbine QA. Episode 71 of DDOcast features an interview with their QA person Silthe, where he talks a bit of QA and a bit about the testing process. I mostly play on Sarlona as well. Because of vacation and work, I've barely been on for two weeks! But I'll be on again more regularly soon.
